Junior Senator!!? Is this a real life reference or what we are supposed to assume happened to Alex P.Keaton? During Michael J. Fox's final regular episode of Spin City his character says, "I just met this junior senator from Ohio. What a dip. Alex P. Keaton." If that's what Michael J. Fox assumes, that's what I'm going to go with

That's hilarious that they'd put the reference in. I love stuff like that.
This ep aired tonight and I absolutely adored it. Goren at the end was so great with the way he manipulated the doctor. Especially "Ooh, ooh, ooh!" - I couldn't quit laughing.
And classic Eames sarcasm: "Who was his judge? The honorable OJ?" (Hollywood is never going to let that one go) and "I'd kill him." And her comment about the "Buddy boys." I also loved her scene in the car with the hitman. And even Carver got a bit of sarcasm in, "Well, we're not too far apart."
I did think it was tragic that the father basically died for no reason. Not that I think the killer would have been justified even if the father had been guilty, but with him being innocent it was twice as bad. And his poor son.
I was also a little bit surprised that it was Goren who spoke with Sophie. Don't get me wrong - I thought he did great with her. But given the circumstances of the case and that they didn't know for sure the allegations were false yet, I'm surprised they didn't get Eames to talk with her. Had she been abused I assume she'd have been more comfortable with a female officer.

Good point, GorensGirl. In the real world, Eames would have spoken with the little girl. However, Season 1 was "The Goren Show," so VDO got most of the pivotal scenes & good dialog. Although they did let Eames' go undercover to nab the cop who murdered the Dad.
As much as I love Goren, I'm glad that has changed & that Eames' (and Erbe's) talents are now being equally showcased as well.
