I really enjoyed this episode.
Does anyone know the name of the actress who played Hannah, and what else she has been in? If there is ever a female remake of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" I want her in the lead!
Was it clear to anyone that Sarah was involved? I assumed so, but since she and Davenport continued to walk on when Hannah started confessing I thought there was at least a little room for doubt.

I enjoyed this episode as well.
I was a little surprised that Sarah just walked away at the end. There wasn't a hint of suspicion from the detectives or Carver that she was guilty of anything.
From the conversation with her and Hannah in the park and in the jail cell, I wasn't convinced she was innocent.

Tammy Blanchard is the name of actor who played Hannah. She did a great job. I have only seen her in one other Law & Order episode. I feel too, she is a rising star www.imdb.com/name/nm0087109/As for Sarah. I bet as soon as she walked out that door with Davenport. There were other cops, putting the culfs on her. They set Hannah up to spill her guts. Goren made some comment that Hannah could never let go of his sister. by telling them what happened that night. Hannah got to keep her sister.

How do you figure? I thought she did spill her guts, assuming she was telling the truth at the end.

Goren's last words where something like "she gave up her sister yes and no" by telling the truth what happened that night. She gave up her sister, sold her out. but by doing that, Hannah gets to spend her days in the slammer with her sister Sarah. and that is all that Hannah wanted out of life, was her real family. and making Davenport her father.

Actually, IMDB has her listed as the girl who played Sarah. They both were good.

DANG!!! You are correct....I have always thought that Hannah was Tammy Hannah is Merritt Wever us.imdb.com/name/nm0923266/they are both great actresses. but I feel, like you that Hannah, (Merrit Wever) could play the part of Jack Nicholson in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.while Sarah, Tammy Blanchard, would excel at period piece drama. Like a Jane Austin play

I agree! And if you have read her bio, Ms.Wever seems wonderfully colorful,

Hey guys,
I just saw a repeat of this episode, and was wondering if any of you guys could help me out with the ending sentiment:
Carver: "Our little ploy worked. She gave up her sister."
Goren: "Gave up....yes, and no."
What exactly does this mean? Any insight would be much appreciated!

Hannah gave up her sister Sarah in the sense that, by declaring Sarah's involvement in the murders, Sarah now wouldn't get off scott free for the murders. In so doing, Hannah also didn't give Sarah up because she also insured Sarah wouldn't go off to live with the wealthy family she helped destroy. The two sisters will always be together" now--in prison for a very long time for those murders.
ETA: my initial post didn't mention the sisters by name, which I am now including for clarity of reference

It seemed in a many ways that Sarah was the leader of the two sisters. Hannah did the most of dirty work and Hanna appointed herself Sarah's "protector". Sarah seemed content to let Hannah rot in jail. She didn't appear to attempt to help Hannah at all.
I think the "Yes...and no" also means that Hannah will always be hung up on Sarah and would not allow Sarah to be happier than she is, thus another reason for implicating Sarah.

I think that quite meant that she gave her up to the law but that they'd probably be jailed together.... right?

Were they blood related or foster children? They didn't even begin to cast for any physical resemblance.

they were blood sisters, Goren made the comment that siblings are usually kept together, but Hanna didn't want to be adopted because she thought their father would come back for her. madger

I didn't really understand the episode. I guess I missed the part where they showed the nannies's motive. I think in the end, Sarah walked out because Davenport paid her bail. I'm pretty sure she won't be walking out after her trial, since Hannah admitted Sarah's part in the murder. I don't think Sarah's innocent either, or how else would Hannah know the number to call Amanda.
This episode portrayed the typical stereotype of a stepmother. Davenport's second wife was almost portrayed as this hard hearted witch that only cares about her own child and does her best trying to get her husband's children from his first marriage out of the house and out of the family trust fund.
By the way, if I remembered right, Tammy Blanchard is a repeated offender. In SVU, she played this rape victim. Supposedly her character was drugged by the girls in her sorority and raped by one of her friend.
