Well, I feel a trifle intimidated here, I do not think I have ever started a new thread on this board. Belated thanks, and best wishes to all the people who have served this country. I spent time in the military, but was never placed in the dangerous and life altering places that a lot of veterans were. Techguy, I did know enough people from the various "Police Actions" the military was involved in to understand why watching war movies would be the last thing you would wish to do. We should all remember that as much as the political and military agenda of whatever administration is involved, this should never be extended to include those people who are doing their utmost for our country. Thanks again to all, and their families. I did see some action in Alaska, but that was of a different sort and could be misinterpeted by some close-minded people as some sort of sexual or drug induced misadventure; of course I plead innocent to any charges... I took a part time job at a convience store(a misnomer if there ever was one) and am now working 50 or so hours a week, and now have keys to the safe and the cash registers and I am beginning to see an LOCI episode developing here( hopefully it will be Logan and not Goren I will have explain the missing money to, and if it happens to be Eames, well I'm done for). Let this be a lesson to all of you rookies, do not ever read a post by Observer before you offer your own post....

Best wishes to Izzi, James and Queenie. So...when do we start our "homework" with the Season 1 episodes?

Yes, Happy Birthday to Queenie and the Junes we missed. Guess I'll have to make a point to check.
(Techguy, I didn't mean to sound flippant about the movies, I certainly understand. I just put the note up there for those who were in the mood and wanted to catch any for cultural reference, sorry if I gave the wrong impression.)
Have had a busy weekend. Babysat Thursday and Friday nights--Friday night the family was holding a lobster boil for the neighborhood, so my job was to run after the babies while they took care of the food and people. Not only was I well-paid, but they fed me lobster! (Very good, but it was my first time trying to get through the shell. From now on I don't want to work that hard for my food.) Saturday we were at a cousin's high-school graduation party, just a get-together with extended family. Plus we saw all the picture proofs from my aunts wedding.
Tomorrow I start docent training. Right now it feels 98 degrees in the house, we just cut on the AC and Dad is switching the vents. Later all, take care.

Janetcatbird, I didn't find your comments about the movies flippant, I certainly didn't get that impression. My post was just a reflection of how I feel personally about war movies. I hope I wasn't too maudlin or dismissive in my statement.
NikkiGreen, please refresh the memory of someone who's getting more and more forgetful as time passes. I must have missed class the day the "homework" was assigned, so clue me in.

...I must have missed class the day...May 5th. One of the suggestions Cassie made was for us to view old episodes during the summer break. The suggestion was met with enthusiasm by some members.

Happy birthday, Rebecca I'm one of those people who would enjoy a rehashing of old eps. Where should we start? At the beginning, perhaps?

Starting at the beginning sounds like a good plan, Trisha. As to the when???

We could pretend that the shows are on Sunday night at 9:00 pm....

Oh, Cassie, I love ya, and it's so logical for a CI chat, but Sunday at 9:00 PM ... that's when The 4400 is on. What can I say? I'm hooked! I guess I can join in late for the party Sunday night it is!

NikkiGreen, thanks for refreshing my memory.
I'd like to re-hash some of the old CI episodes, but I'm not sure if the idea is to start/revive discussion threads, or have a chat about the episodes. Further clarification is needed.

Yes, we'll start/revive discussion threads, but I see no reason to limit ourselves to this. If something about the episodes peaks our interest (cross-episode elements) we should all feel free to talk about that in the general CI threads
