Check out your time Domenica, Funny, it reminds me of a picture my friend. She had one foot in Canada and one foot in the USA. Hope all Canadians stay cool on their holiday

I haven't had much time to contribute anything noteworthy lately, having just finished 11 straight days of 12 hour shifts covering my own assigned time slot and doing some OT for colleagues on vacation. Now I get to enjoy two whole days off before it's back to work. Oh, joy!
While I'm still coherent, let me wish a Happy July 4th to our stateside members, and a belated Happy Canada Day to all Canadian members. And while I'm at it, Happy Birthday to all who have birthdays in July --I see Blucougar57, CaZ, and Sirenna are celebrating today--but I want to cover all the bases in case I can't keep up with the rest of the July revelers. Enjoy your special day, everyone.

David Gilmour and Roger Waters standing next to each other on the same stage? On the same continent, and in the same time zone?
Pigs must be flying, and hell must have frozen over. Must be so--either that or two grown men have finally come to their senses, for the benefit of Live 8 Aid.
Does that mean I can now expect a real Pink Floyd reunion in my lifetime? One can only hope.

Only in America do we celebrate our nation's birthday by trying to see how many fingers and toes we can blow off (g).
Actually, I love the 4th of July.
I love Canada, too. Any country that could elect someone like Pierre Trudeau has got something going for it. (Although I realize Mr. Trudeau is not universally admired in his home nation.)

We always go to the baseball game (we have a minor league team nearby), because they always do an awesome fireworks display. Despite the rain delay Friday night it was a good game, came through in the bottom of the 8th. Road series so they weren't in town on the actual 4th, my family just stayed in and watched the Monk marathon, although my parents and I did take a break to see "Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy" at the $1.50 theater.
And note to self, give up on Museums as a career. My internship is not what I thought it would be, I understand that interns get grunt work but I have to spend six weeks organizing transpaerncies?!?! Ugh. At least we get some decent seminars as interns, and I've gotten chatty with a couple fo the adults, so that's nice.
Later all, take care.

Poor Catbird-- we use (or should I say abuse) interns where I work. I will make a mental note to be more creative with their assignments.

Catbird,
Sorry to hear that your internship is boring, but make of it what you can and network it to the hilt. Good luck!

Thoughts and prayers go out to any UK members for the terrorist attack in London today. Peace to all. D. Thanks for those kind thoughts... I'm in the UK, and although I don't live in London, my brother and sister do, and I was horribly scared for them for a while. Fortunately, they are safe. But many are not. I'm just a lurker around here usually, but I really appreciate that folks on this board care about us Brits. Love Wendy

I saw a bummer sticker today that said:
“there is no freedom as long as one person is oppressed"
Sending hugs and prayers to England and to the rest of the world
