Congrats Metella! As for me, I read the board nearly daily but haven't broken 100 yet. Sigh.

Yes, Metella, nice job! My professors seem to like me when I shoot my mouth off--but then, I try to keep it on topic and can usually back up what I say. Not unlike most of the posters on this board...
Good to hear from you Darmok.
Just got back from "Amahl and the Night Visitors", plus a tribute they tacked on to a big music honcho who died last year. Interesting selections of songs, and some nice vocalists. Before that the dorm had our big Thanksgiving dinner, which was wonderful.
Ugh. Tomorrow I have two papers to write, and then if I'm a good little student I'll start planning and researching for what I have due in December before exams. I am so ready for the break it is not even funny. Bloody 18 hour classes and demanding professors and busy three weeks don't give me any time... sorry, I'm done. Later all, take care.

Congratulations, Metella. Observer, I don't know if you watch Everybody Loves Raymond....tonight's episode (at 9:00PM, CBS) has Debra's parents coming for Thanksgiving. Her dad is played by Robert Culp.

Nikki, Thanks for the heads-up, though, as usual, I saw it too late. Clearly I need to spend more time online... Oh, well, I’ll watch for it on the re-runs. I have seen him on Raymond once – I think it was when his character and Debra’s mother told her they were getting a divorce. I’m really pleased for him that he finally got the hang of comedic acting. When he first starting trying it, he was quite dreadful at it. I could see him thinking about how funny it all was... which is the last thing you want a comedic actor to be doing. It was quite a shock, after watching his serious acting. It took him a while to learn to really get into character, as though it were serious acting, not just stand on a set saying punch lines. I think the first time I saw him do a good job of it was a guest bit he did on Wings. It was a totally outrageous, over the top character – but he played it to the hilt, and it flew. He had me laughing out loud through most of the show. He also did a nice job when Cosby had him on his shows – especially the second time, when they did that great parody of I Spy – I loved it. Did you ever see that one? **ETA: Woo-hoo!! I made Detective!! How nice that it was with a post about Culp... since I Spy is one of my two favorite shows of all time. Want to guess what the other one is?

Wasn't I Spy a comedy?
Hope everyone had a nice November, I was offline for a few weeks at the beginning of it and then the holidays attacked. Not that I had to do anything but show up - decades of training finally paying off.
That and I tape CI and watch Desperate Housewives (whose numbers were what I originally thought made VDO faint) so I'm always way off on the timing of the topic. Not that that would stop me, with net access.
So. Last day of November. I guess this is the last official day I can object to the playing of Christmas Carols?

Observer, sorry you missed seeing Robert Culp and "his ex" wrapped in bed sheets! There's always reruns. And congratulations on making Detective . ETA: Speaking of reruns... after I left here, I turned the TV to one of our local channels and what do I see? Robert Culp! It was the 1999 Christmas episode of "Everybody Loves Raymond" where Debra's parents are on because of family pictures, which Ray's mother doesn't want anyone to be in if they are not a Barone! So...Mr. Bush is in Canada, eh! The bowtied guy on CNN's Wolf Britzer show thinks all Canadians go around on sleds!
