HAPPY BIRTHDAY NIKKI!! I hope everything went smashingly well on your birthday. I do not think I am being overly complimentary when I say you are someone we all like to hear from. I took BegtoDiffer's comment as basically a joke, because I am about a year past the time Rom said that it was the age to be worried. Although I think it may apply to some people, I am not certain that I fit in to the "wiser" category. Observer, we will discuss the shawl and warm tea comments at a later time, of course assuming that someone of my advanced years will still be around. No whiskey or bourbon, well we need something to warm these old bones

Coth, Well, you know, my mother used to say there was nothing like a hot toddy to chase away the chill... hot water, lemon, honey, and a good dollop of whiskey or rum... she swore by them! Maybe that’ll do, instead of tea, for you.

Observer-What memories you brought back about the hot toddy. My dad used to give us that same thing when we had a cold. It was his version of what cough medicine should be and boy did it work. We only needed one dose. After that, you didn't cough for a month of Sundays. Okay, I'm off to the kitchen. I feel a cold coming on.

I couldn’t figure out how to do a nice big cake like you did for Trisha (they take so long to bake, you know...), but here’s an unending supply of happy wishes for you! I'll take the unending supply, Observer. They are a lot less fattening. ;D Thank you all for your birthday wishes.

NicoleMarie, I doubt your cooking could be worse than mine! It shames me to say, but I've been known to ruin Kraft Macaroni and Cheese! So, who's getting the nice weather this week? It's been cold and rainy here

It took a few minutes, but I finally did get what you mean, Observer.
It's at 10PM Eastern, isn't it?

Yep, Techguy, after the season finales of L&O and L&O:TBJ.
But right now I can hardly think about that... I just read Major Hathaway’s announcement on the interview thread... and when I read the part about the mystery of the Santa mug being revealed, I realized... AAARRRGGG!! I missed my chance... I completely forgot to ask about the story behind the picture on Eames’ desk of a Basset Hound wearing a police hat. Did anyone think to ask??
I suppose it could have started out just as an odd little thing to have there... but even if it did, by now I’m sure they must have integrated it into her backstory. Was it a childhood pet? Or one she and her husband had? Was that her father’s hat on it? Or hers? Or her husband’s? I can’t believe I forgot to ask!
I have a particular fondness for Basset Hounds. They’re such sweet dogs; and as a part-time dog trainer, the first time I took on dealing with a behavioral issue, rather than just normal training for obedience/companion dog, was a Basset Hound. Whenever the owner would put the dog on a leash and take it out to walk, it would hold its head so low it would step on those long ears and its toenails would scratch them so badly they would get raw and bloody.
The owner was a successful businesswoman who had taught herself to speak in a low-pitched, no-nonsense tone of voice. She did it all the time, so even when she praised the dog, he thought he was being reprimanded, and would lower his head in submission. The more she talked to him and tried to get him to raise his head, the more submissive he became.
I taught her the different tones of voice to use with dogs, and, in a very businesslike way, she trained herself to use the correct ones for different situations. Voila! No more bloody ears! Our last training session, he was trotting happily along, ears swinging as he glanced up into her face... something he had been much too intimidated to do before. He was a great little guy, and gave me a lot of confidence to take on behavioral issues by being such an “easy fix.” I’ve been fond of Basset Hounds ever since. I can’t believe I forgot to ask about that picture!

Thanks, Observer and Techguy for the notification. I happened to run across this info in the TV guide of all things. They had an interesting interview with a tired and a bit combative VDO(sorry for the abbreviation, but it has been a long week). This may have been already discussed but according to the article, Chris Noth will be in half of the 22 episodes next year.
Thanks again, I just assumed that the season finale would have been at the regular time, but Thor forbid that "Desperate Housewives" should be competed with. How about some consideration for people, dare I say intelligent people that are not interested in what happens to the DH's, or what Oprah had to eat, or what ersatz pop psychology Dr. Phil has to offer....
Sorry, this just annoys me.

Well, no one should miss that reminder, Observer! ;D
BTW, the mothership and TBJ finales have already been shown. The two hours preceding the CI season finale is the L&O/TBJ cross-over episode (where Green is shot).
