Futoncritic.com lists this in the season's top 10 episodes: "Six Feet Under: Everyone's Waiting" (HBO)Too bad the title is already taken. It would have made a great title as sendoff for the final chapter in the CI Nicole Wallace saga.
That was rich! They could always use the entire title anyway, just with some flair! Law & Order Criminal Intent -Season 5 Finale: "Six Feet Under - Everyone's Waiting...And Waiting"

www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11496710/Well, no 'Team Canada' or 'Team USA' past the initial round. The joke on the local radio stations is that Team Canada can carry home the Canadian Women's Team's bags! ;D

LOL! It's seriously bugging the guys I'm working with right now.
I read a letter to the editor in the Globe and Mail which said: "note to men's Canadian Hockey team: Play like girls."

I was right. An American didn't win the Gold Medal in women's ice skating, it went to Japan. At least the USA came in second with silver (Sasha Cohen)!

I'm about to rant...please excuse me...
Why does the US think it has to win, no must win, everything? And nations don't win medals, individuals or teams do. And when did curling become worthy of the Olympics? And they don't have softball?
Thank you for your time.

I'm assuming you are referring to my post. The US women have turned out some the best figure skaters within the last decade and has managed to be awarded several Gold Medals and (Silver Medals!) because of it. I didn't think the USA team had a good enough team this year to win gold. And I was right. Sasha Cohen was the USA's best chance for winning the Gold and even though she won the Silver she was panned by critics for doing what she (unfortunatley) always does: Falling apart at the big events. I say get off her back, she won the Silver! I don't even like Miss Sasha but give her credit where credit is due, damn critics!! Also, the Americans finally broke a 40 year medal drought in Ice Dancing by winning a Silver. Though the individuals compete, they are competing for their country. Japan has now won it's very first Gold Medal in ice skating history thanks to Shizuka Arakawa. She is a very fine skater! The closest Japan came to winnning any Medals in figure skating was courtesy of Midori Ito with a Silver in 1992. In 1992, American Kristi Yamaguchi took the Gold. Michelle Kwan is regarded as one the best figure skaters in history, Gold Medal be damned. She is the first (and only) female figure skater to be inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame. The only other inducted figure skater is figure skating legend Dick Button. Forgive my rambling, I'm a figure skating nut. Every team think they have to win something and everything. I'd rather they actually win it than just have it handed to them like *cough*Russia*cough*. The gold medals in the other three figure skating events pretty much go (automatically) to the Russians. Not so with the women's event. I have nothing against Russians but have everything against politics!! Curling has been in the past few Olympics that I remember. It looks pretty silly to me but I think is big in Canada and Europe. Softball is part of the Summer Olympics, isn't it?? I don't pay much attention to those unless they are swimming.

I like figure skating a great deal (although it is a weird and wonderful world and I've pretty much given up on figuring out ice dancing.)
I agree that Michelle Kwan doesn't need a gold medal to justify her greatness as a skater. And I don't think one "loses" a gold medal--winning a silver or bronze seems pretty spectacular to me.
Women's softball has been dropped from the summer games. There was a lot of official blather about how the sport wasn't played in enough countries, but the decision seemed to come down to the fact that the Americans were so dominant in it. There's simply too many disciplines being contested at the Summer Games, and things have to be dropped.
It is interesting to view things from the perspective of other countries. I work in a library, and get to see newsmagazines and papers from many countries. Both the Russians and Canadians are convinced there's some kind of conspiracy against them (their sports columnists read a great deal like those in the US), and the Norwegians are currently furious about their showing in these Games.

And when did curling become worthy of the Olympics? 1924. Although...it didn't become a regular feature until 1998, Nagano. These facts came up on the local radio this morning, following the Canadian Mens team's gold medal win earlier today. The only other time Canada's won gold was in 1998, by the women's team (skippered by the late Sandra Schmirler) BTW, curling originated in 16th Century Scotland.

Bite your tongue!!!!! I watched the Independent Spirit Awards today so I'm content. Two or three movies that were up for both awards got lots here, (Capote, Brokeback Mountain, Transamerica).
The IS Awards also showcase so many movies you'd never have heard of and I'm making my 'must watch' list from that.
I am embarassed to admit, though, I may watch some Red Carpet. I love looking at pretty dresses, just don't have the patience to sit through interviews, etc. because I know these poor people are having the same conversation with soo many interviewers all the way down the line.

Too funny that the Russians seem to think their is some sort of conspiracy against them in sports, especially since they seem to win everything! I tuned into the oscars at 10:50 hoping to see the last finals, but soon realized it was going to run over extra and turned it back off. And is it me or were there lots of ugly dresses this year?? LOL!!

Yeah, it makes one wonder why celeb's haven't gotten smart & started carrying tape recorders around that have their 'interview speech' recorded so they can just sit there & play it back without having to repeat themselves over & over again LOL.
