My wife and I met with the surgeon and nurse, got lots of information on options. Based on the stage of her cancer, the doctor recommended the least invasive surgery which is very encouraging news, with post-op treatment to depend on what he finds. The surgery is tentatively scheduled for this coming Thursday June 29, to be confirmed early next week with his scheduler. I took some time off, so I think Mrs. T and I will go away for a few days of quiet time to allow her to relax and stay upbeat about the process.

OK, Techguy, thanks for letting us know. From what you've said "least invasive" possible surgery is something that could be hopeful. You know we're here and thinking of both of y'all, give a shout if you need to. I'm glad you'll get some peace together before going in; a chance to regroup and support each other is a good thing.

Mrs T and I managed to get away for a few days. She went to bed early so I'm getting caught up prior to her surgery Thursday morning. Check-in is at 7AM, surgery at 9:30AM which will take about two hours, followed by another two hours in recovery. My wife is a little anxious but has a firm resolve; the last few days have done what I hoped it would, allow her to clear her mind and forge ahead. Please keep the prayers and good thoughts coming her way.

I'm pleased to report my wife's surgery went very well. She had some problems breathing during the surgery and needed to have her lungs aspirated, so the doctors kept her overnight for observation as a precaution. The good news is the cancer was very localized; there were clear defined boundaries on the tumor, and no cancer in the lymph nodes. Mrs. T came home today, and now is taking some time to rest and heal. I took off work an extra day tomorrow just to be on the safe side in case she needs my help or in the unlikely event she has any post-operative complications. We're both very encouraged and relieved now by what the surgeon told us.
