I know what you mean about beaches. Water and camp fires are things I can stare at for HOURS.

From an August baby -- thanks for all the good wishes. I've had way too much birthday cake. If only I wasn't getting so darn old! (joints ache like heck) I enjoy reading the posts from all the college kids out there. There is so much energy in your posts. And at work, we have a bunch of interns for the summer. Wow, I like being around them. One thing I don't understand, my new boss is also a LEO, and I usually get along with LEOs, but I clash with her at every turn. What am I missing here?

After the consultation with the oncologist and the intro to chemo class, Mrs T is leaning strongly toward NOT getting chemo, just the radiation to complete the treatment after her breast surgery. The numbers the oncologist gave as to how much the chemo will increase her survival rate and prevent re-occurrence just don't seem high enough for my wife to want to go through the chemo nightmare. She feels, and I strongly agree, that there are things she can do with diet and lifestyle changes that will boost her immune system and give her the same numbers benefits that chemo would. She will finally decide in the next couple of days and let the oncologist know her decision, but I believe her mind is already made up. So we are continuing with our research for alternative cancer treatments and dietary regimens to complement the surgery and radiation treatments yet to come.
On a lighter note, Happy Birthday wishes, on time or belated, for the August birthday members on this board. And good luck and best wishes for those headed back to school.

On a dietary note: I read a book called "Kamakazi Cowboy" true story about a guy and the diet he created that beat his cancer - now, I wouldn't put it all on diet - but it was very interesting and this man has lived behind his philosophy now for 2 decades after his fight with cancer, he opened the diet up later to more things, but he is happy & healthy.
Whatever road - good traveling!

Thanks again for the continued support for Mrs T and myself. My wife finally decided what I thought she would do--she nixed the chemo but will have the radiation treatments. Sometime next week she will make an appointment for a preliminary radiology consultation, so that's the next step in her Robert Frostian road to be taken.

Good for Mrs. T. We wish her and you all the best. I had to travel by plane this weekend, not fun. What was to have been a 10 hour trip turned into an 18 hour nightmare. It wasn't the security measures, I got thru those fine, but they lost our entire flight crew? they closed Atlanta airport due to storms and I missed my connection since it was only delayed 3 hrs. instead of the 5 hrs. we were. Tomorrow I'll have to do it all over again I hope everyone's weather is as glorious as it is here in Palo Alto, CA and as I'm told it is in NY. Finally a break, yea! Well gotta go scatter my brother's ashes, I expect a big weep and hug fest. It's been five years since he died and he is sorely missed by many.

Techguy, I'm still waiting to hear back from my aunt, but she may be out of the country. Best wishes for all the treatments and such, you know we're thinking of y'all.
Madger, I'm sorry about your brother. I can imagine that this will be a difficult time--hope you and the family can get through alright.
Well back at school. My senior year, the computer hookup finally works! Freshman year we had a virus, sophomore year was just slow, last year they didn't register my dorm change, but this year it worked right off the bat--hooray! (Well, it took forever to run three months worth of updates, but no problems so far!)
Obviously I am here--I came up yesterday and my parents came up today to bring big stuff like computer, fridge, bookshelf that wouldn't fit in my car. Took forever to get the furniture set up and such, but it's a nice set-up. Tonight I finish unpacking, tomorrow I get textbooks, and classes start Monday. I'm ready.

Caseywife...we all agree on the fact that yours is the best avatar and yesterday I found someone that made fridge magnets with that picture and sells them on ebay. Imagine if you go to get a snack in the middle of the night and you have those eyes looking at you! the fridge would melt instead of refrigerate.

For anyone who's interested here is my brother's webpage www.spainview.com/little.html

Hey Spainard, I believe you can buy the magnetic sheets, along with Tee Shirt transfers at your local 5&10 store. So you could make your own if you have a printer hooked up to your computer. Those items can be found in the office/computer supply area. I think you might have more fun choosing the pictures, plus its cheaper then ebay.

Imagine if you go to get a snack in the middle of the night and you have those eyes looking at you! the fridge would melt instead of refrigerate. WOW! Consider me honored!! I must say that your entry for 'location' is the best I have ever read! I jump in my seat and laugh everytime I read it! ;D I have the "best avatar" because the wonderful, multi-talented, First Lady of Vincent/CI capping, Eliza, made it. She is marvelous and I encourage anyone who is a VDO/CI Vixen to give her blog ( elizasplace.blogspot.com/ ) a visit! I would l-o-v-e LOVE to have a magnet and tshirt with The Man on it! (I actually want his picture on a black tee because then it would be my very own "Black Tee Shirt of Hotness! ) I really must visit ebay or get a printer (as the lovely Cassie suggested) that does that sort of thing. Thank you again for the compliment... Glad I could be of service! caseyswife
