Thankyou all for the reassurance on the acceptalbility of my avatar, *bows humbly* it's good to know that I am being distracted the right way.
Has anyone seen "Young Sherlock Holmes"?
The very best Holmes, ever, was Jeremy Brett on PBS.

Yes, I have seen "Young Sherlock," I thought it was quite sweet and very good. The young actor who played him (I can't think of his name right now) was very, very good. And you are correct again, sarahlee, no one beats Jeremy Brett as Holmes! Did you know he played Freddie Einsford-Hill in "My Fair Lady?" I read that recently and it blew my mind! caseyswife

The very best Holmes, ever, was Jeremy Brett on PBS. I totally agree! His version is running here, currently, in the U.K. He was so wonderfully over the top!! Can't beat him!!

I like a lot of Sherlock Holmeses (is that the plural of Holmes?), but my favorite is Brett. At his best, the best Holmes.
And the actor in YOUNG SHERLOCK HOLMES (who was awfully good) was Nicholas Rowe.

Ya-hoo! I love this board! Finally, people who know what I'm babbling about! ;D
Didn't I see Nicholas Rowe in "David Copperfield" (I think, something Dickens) --I have to ruminate and marinate over this awhile...

Oh, Techguy, I'm glad y'all have made at least that much progress. (And still no word from my aunt, sorry. I'll try to fire her another note.) So, radiation+holistic/natural remedies? How's Mrs. T doing?
Just had our weekly dorm coffee thing. People trying to learn to dance--I think I got the basic footwork of the Lindburgh down--sitting and chatting. Quite nice. And yesterday the Dance class tried capoeira, leaving me a bit sore but it was fun. Ready for the weekend though, I got reading to do and a dorm room to get redd up and decent.

Thanks for the update, techguy, I know that we all have been keeping you and Mrs. T in our thoughts. Prayers, blessings, and positive vibes to you both on Wednesday. Bless you

Thanks again everyone for keeping Mrs. T and me in your thoughts and prayers. She's doing fine, very comfortable with her decision to nix the chemo and go straight for radiation. The one hurdle we had to overcome--getting to talk to a HUMAN BEING to process a referral to radiology--went through at last so she's set up for that. We're still researching diets and such to help with her post-cancer treatments, boosting her immune system and decreasing the chances of re-occurrence.

When you find that human being tell him/her that you donĀ“t doubt that, with a brain like his, a machine can do his work just fine. Maybe they get offended and stop using those computers.
Soon this will be only a nightmare left behind.

Congratulations Purple Baby! You must be the only person in the US showing off her driver's license picture!

Way to go Purple Baby! Now "permit", you mean the whole adult supervision thing, right? In North Carolina we do the graduated system: 6 months permit of driving with parents 5 AM-9PM, 6 months anytime with parent/guardian. Your license starts out Cinderella: first six months of your license are limited to 5-9 (although you can get passes for work/school). My brother is waiting to get into Driver's Ed right now. Love those videos...my personal favorite was "The Cat Who Drank and Used Too Much".

So true, I'll never forget "driving" in Greece, where traffic signs, if there are any, are "suggestions"!
