I'm giving it the A+ for the acting alone. I don't think I've ever given an A+ before.

Not sure how to grade this. Terrific acting, but the Luke I am your father thing left me fussing at the TV. Arrgh. Running for the shelter of your mother's little helper...

Must give this an A++ for the unbelievable acting job by all. It made the episode so wonderful for me.
I really wish they would have come up with a more unique revelation for Goren - it's been done & done already.I sincerely hope they have Brady's DNA collected post mortem & discover that he isn't Bobby's Dad. I mean, a serial killer for a father? Especially for a hero & protector of women like Goren? It's too ridiculous, really.

Gave it an A+. Gripping episode. A few little things that bothered me but they were easily overlooked by the overall quality. Comes in as probably the best episode of the season for me.

I gave it the elusive A+....I think I may have only ever given one or two others.
While I had some serious qualms about the storyline, the execution and acting of it all was so superb it rendered all my misgivings positively moot.
The acting alone wins this one an A+ as far as I'm concerned.

I sincerely hope they have Brady's DNA collected post mortem & discover that he isn't Bobby's Dad. I wonder what the legal requirements are for requesting a DNA test on an executed mass murderer? I know bodies are exhumed to resolve a crime, such as was done when Marion Whitney's husband was dug up in "Unrequited." But who can request a post mortem DNA test? Does it have to be a proven family member or next of kin? To be honest, when the story unfolded about Brady serving overseas I braced myself for news that he had been to Australia and where that would lead.

If they couldn't use Brady's DNA they could use Frank's. If both Frank and Bobby have the same then at least all would know that both boys had the same father. I bet they wouldn't have to get Brady's DNA. Perhaps there were DNA tests done on some of his victims and the test results could be acquired by Bobby and compared to his own DNA.

Being a rapist/murderer, they should already have his DNA on file.

Even if it's proved that Bobby and Frank had the same father, it's still possible it could be Brady. Mother Goren and Brady conducted their affair over an extended period while Goren Sr. was "gone a lot" so it's possible that Brady could have fathered both Goren boys. If Bobby is going to derive anything positive from this news, given how he and Frank turned out differently, it's that one can overcome one's biological heritage handicaps, that it's the choices one makes in life that's most important.
As for Brady's DNA recovered from the scene of his crimes--we know he had victims from the 1960s-1980s but DNA testing wasn't done until the later date. There won't be any records of his DNA from the 1960s crime scenes. The only likely source of Brady's DNA would be from the 1980s crimes or more recently.

I can't vote this one up. Was I interested? You bet. Was it well written? Yes. Was the acting good? PHENOMENAL from everyone. But this was not CI. The crimes were completely beyond the point. There was absolutely no criminal intent. I felt like it was a different show staring the characters I love. I REALLY enjoyed the show, but it didn't feel like the show I love.

Techguy: my understanding is that all sex offender's DNA is on file, plus they are rechecking DNA to confirm culpability in old cases. But as this is the government bureaucracy, no doubt, it is going pretty slowly.

I loved this episode - I thought the story line was great and the acting was freat. I loved the ending when Frances was telling Bobby that she couldn't be sure who his dad was, the reaction from both of them was so realistic. I can't say enough about this episode - I could watch it 1000 times!

Boy, did I struggle over this one. My first impulse was to give it an A+--for the great acting we were treated to. But I realize that I am just so grateful for an episode with layers and nuance, that I was dismissing the predictable storyline. Still, this was the first "A" for me for what seems like a loooong time.
