Meh. I'm not as incensed as Techguy, I'm just underwhelmed. I am of the opinion that if WL is going to continue being the show runner, they might as well end it now, while we can still remember the good old days. I thought Goren looked awful, puffy and in need of a shave, jeez we know he's having a rough time already, we don't need the stubble. I'm trembling in fear of what they are going to do in Endgame, granted VDO over acting is better than most shows any day, but yikes!

Maybe Goren, isnt questioning his own anger, More of Ross implying that they both have the same kind of anger? Just a thought. I don't think most people like if when their boss, puts them in the same boat as them, especially if its a negative comment. I liked the show. Wasn't as great some of them in the past, but I will watch it again with no regrets I loved the ending "Luke don't worry, as long as their is a jury with housewives and mothers, I will be OK " Boy did she remind me of Betty Broderick! HA!!

Well to me it was ok, besides the Goren and Ross comments back and forth. I also like right when the wife walks up Goren whispers to the husband, We found your Semen at the scene. He loves to make people uncomfortable. Then you know the comander wants to talk to them alone, and the wife insist on coming along. But I hate to think this might be the second to last G/E CI I might see, I feel like I am holding my breath, can't wait till the announcement so I can breath. If there is another season and WL is having trouble writting for CI maybe they need a new writter with fresh Ideas.

boring and why were all the characters drawn so dumb? Aren't they supposed to be the best of the best? They were little more than skirt-sniffing animals.
yuck.

Holly, yes I am being brutal. If this crap, this drek is the best WL can come up with for CI during MAY SWEEPS, then it doesn't deserve to be renewed. There, I said it, it's out in the open. Dick Wolf and NBC should cut their losses and end it. But CI just might survive for the reason I already gave--NBC has nothing better to replace it. Better the crap you know than the crap you don't? What a sorry state of affairs this is. I am not picking on you Techguy, but I need to address this passage. It is "crap & drek" that has made SVU a top rated show. I wanted to vomit watching it last night. Benson kicking the perp in the stomach while he's handcuffed to the table - made Stabler look like one of the Care Bears. There wasn't even a crime really - all Olivia angst & more angst. Imagine Ross having to physically restrain Eames from breaking a suspects ribs with her 5 inch heels? This board would be in total disgust. My point is that this is what Leight is facing. Get the ratings up any way you can. So he goes with what he sees works for other shows. Obviously, the guy is floundering here. He can't handle this job, so goodbye, Demote him back to writing & get someone else to showrun. And I'm sorry that some of you (not just you, Techguy) are now having second thoughts about desiring CI's renewal based on this episode. If Endgame proves to be a great episode, does everyone now change their minds & want CI renewed? I don't understand that. And the mothership isn't any better, IMO. They are also big into "ripping" lately. Unless Balcer plans on making his talented mark on these last episodes. But what about next season? Thank you for listening. No hard feelings, OK?

I always laugh at the "The story is fictional and does not reflect any actual person or event" disclaimer. It must be for legal reasons, because really, who believes that?
I didn't mind the episode, but I thought the ending was flat. The wife's motivation was...she didn't want to lose her husband? Really, that's it?
And why did the astronaut trainer think it was a good idea to leave a bloody shirt, wig, and pepper stray in her car? Why not throw it in a lake on the drive back to Annapolis?
The commander's lawyer looked familair - have we seen her before?

Bobby did seem rather astonished about being classified as "angry." Eames didn't seem too phased by it all. I backed the tape up and rewatched that little exchange again but it went by pretty fast. Cue the fan fic writers to have them get into this over lunch... :0)
maybe he understands that he's capable of anger, but hasn't quite come to terms with being angry... perhaps he should dig up that book that he wanted to give Liza earlier in the season dealing with grief...
I have a feeling he might be about to tap into some of that anger in, oh, say about 2 weeks...

I'm in two minds about wanting the show renewed. I haven't signed the petition and probably won't. The past year and half is not the show I want to see.

All I can say is, if you ever find yourself in the CI universe, bring your own lotion. First Nicole's nasty fiance uses lotion spiked with cancer causing drugs to try to kill his own child (Grow). Now we get steroid spiked lotion. WL is having so much trouble thinking up plotlines for the show that he's recycling old ones and jumping for joy when awful things happen to real people. This episode was insipid. Unworthy of the CI name. The dialogue was banal, the relationships between the characters two-dimensional and the plot plodding. I'm unfamiliar with the non-CI writing of Sioban Byrne O'Connor and Julie Martin, but am unimpressed with what I've seen on this show. Metella, WORD! Where's SenGupta when we need her? As for Leight being given a mandate to up the ratings no matter how... Drek might work for SVU, but it's not working here. Leight has managed to show run CI to its worst ratings ever, while also running it to its worst quality ever. Bring Balcer back or put the series out of its misery. I don't want to remember it like this. After watching this episode, I'm more fearful than ever about Endgame. Leight goes for the cheesiest lowest common denominator, which tells me we're going to find out Goren's daddy's a serial killer. Yep, I really think he'll go there.

Today at 10:23 DonnaJo wroteExactly how I feel DonnJo I enjoyed this episode enough - Didn't LOVE it but certainly didn't hate it!! To me it still beats the heck out of Sensationalist over the top SVU ( which I have never watched and actually run to the t.v to turn off right after CI ends LOL ) OR boring and stale Mothership episodes which I half watch while doing a million other things. CI is still by far the best of the three - JMO!! I definitely think it deserves to be renewed and will be quite bummed if it is not as its all that I watch

I never post comments. I just enjoy reading what others have to say, in a non-stalker kind of way of course! ;D This episode though deserves a comment. I only started watching the show last summer after seeing it in reruns. I am usually bored with TV because a lot of shows just don't keep my attention. After I saw CI I thought, "Wow. What a smart show." I loved not feeling like I had lost brain cells after watching. I looked forward with great anticipation to this season. Is this the same show? There were a couple of good moments in last night's epsiode, but it just wasn't very good. I am really annoyed with the "ripped from the headlines" stuff. I cringed last week when I saw the upcoming story and I almost didn't watch it. If I were an actor on this show, I am not sure that I would want to come back. I did sign your petition (and I have never done that), however now I am wondering a bit why I did. As a viewer, I am not sure I will come back........... . No offense to anyone!

Welcome, batescitybabe! Glad that you decided to comment - glad to see you! Well, I must have really lost it because compared to some of the insipid clunkers I have seen this season I though this episode rocked. It had several suspects, snappy snark, and I thought they set up the coming "storm" between Ross and Goren pretty well. It certainly wasn't the greatest episode ever, but far from the worst. (Players or Country Crossover, anyone??) And I have to give a shout out to DonnaJo - if you think after watching this episode that the show shouldn't be renewed, then what will you say if "Endgame" is a classic? (I will say that if LOCIfan is right and Leight does go there with "Endgame", I will personally be ready for it to be over and the blame should rest squarely with Leight for killing it!) I agree with Techguy about Leight's totally ignorant remark that "they had hit a wall after 18 episodes." Okay, Warren we get it; you can't handle the show. So get the **** out and let us have Rene back and maybe we'll forgive you. Obviously Leight needs to be out if he can't run the show for an entire season. I am sure Balcer and the others have felt that way in season's past, but they were never stupid enough to SAY IT. I liked Bobby getting back to some of the things that he does so well - sniffing and investigating the body, getting in peoples way (they should have had the exercise machine throw the guy off), and looking to Eames like a little boy lost over the Ross anger remark. And for the V-ladies, there was the Endowment in quite a couple of scenes, which is NEVER a bad thing!! caseyswife

BTD ratings - C+. It was okay, I'd watch it again only to see Goren & Eames working well together. It definately needed more snark.
"Am I angry?" - LOL. Is Goren kidding?
I don't think Ross could ever reach the height of anger Goren is carrying around. I wonder why Ross thinks he is like Goren? I don't see that at all. I don't even see Ross as a "Type A" anything.
Its sad to see such a once great show slip to what it now is. If they don't bring back Balcer, they can kiss this show good-bye.
Warren Leight: Since you don't have any interesting ideas, I'd like to help you out. Here's an idea for you. There are seven people riding on a train. They are Techguy, Sirenna, Madger, Holly, jefferaldo and BegToDiffer. The 7th person is a bad writer, who is murdered in the night. Goren & Eames show up to investigate and realize there are six different knive wounds in the writer. While Goren is sniffing around, Eames finds the writer's wallet and realizes he writes crap for a police show on TV. She snarks about how nobody will miss this guy anyway, and they could be doing something better with their time. Then Eames phone rings and gets word that Mr. Balcer is back in town and the two of them rush off to worship at the alter of Balcer.
What about the dead guy? Nobody cares.

I remember seeing the movie years ago, I think it was called "Murder on the Orient Express" but there were 12 suspects, and in the end, it turned out that each suspect took a turn at stabbing their victim.
I don't know.....
I hope this is the last season..... not because I think the writing stinks......
but just because, I am tired of no one enjoying any part of the show anymore. I don't think its all WL's fault..... I think everyone is just tired. and even if RB was doing the writing, I don't think he would be able to make the show much better. Remember he was part of the show in Season 3, 4, and 5. and I heard alot of complaining back then too....
Sorry, I am not trying to be difficult, really I am not.
I do like the relationships that Ross has with his detectives. I have been enjoy watching the characters unfold, not in a soapy way, this past season.
