THe same thing is happening now, "Town Meeting January 2005" has no reply/quote buttons. I think that's the only one, just wanted to give a heads-up to the Mods.

NUTS!!
I wrote a post ( what I think about the 4th season ) and it went over the word limit! I was directed to hit the back button and edit it (shorten) and when I did, it wiped out EVERYTHING that I'd just written!
Grumble, grumble! (And I checked my spelling and everything! Chuckle!)
How can you tell if you're over the limit, so as to avoid that happening again..? Or was that a glitch? Ie: it shouldn't have wiped-out the text inside the box. Imean, it wasn't that long!

Hi Marie, Welcome to the forum! I’ve been off-line for so long, dealing with LOTN (life off the Net) that I have no idea what any of the other threads are talking about (I did a ’10 most recent posts’ search, and I’m completely out of date on all the conversations). Your post made sense to me, though! Been there, done that. I don’t know if losing the text when you hit your back key was a glitch, or just the way the forum works. But in any case, I’ve had that kind of thing happen so many times that I always compose in Word, save it as a document, then copy and paste it into the box. That way, if the post gets lost in the ether, I still have a copy. If you compose in Word (or WordPerfect, I think) you can check your word count (or character count, for forums that use that instead) by checking “properties.” In Word, you do that by clicking on “File,” and looking down the drop-down menu for “Properties.” Clicking on that will open a dialog box. Look at the top of the box, and click on the “Statistics” tab. That will show you the number of pages, paragraphs, lines, words, characters, and 'characters (with spaces).' Good luck!

Chuckle; it occured to me afterwards that that's probably the best solution in order to avoid losing any more posts!
I used to post over at the Buffyworld Forums, back in the day, and their limit must have been higher because it never occured to me I might cross one here (note: Joss Whedon fan - loved all those literary and pop-cultural references injected into scripts via subtext while going down rabbit holes of pathology; yes, and a "Spike" fan - grin.) But I never forgot it was a TV show. Unlike some, who kinda remind me now in retrospect of Nellie from "Semi-Detached". Chuckle!
It's a shame the Forum doesn't have a built-in character limit detector thingy. Ie: you get a pop-up the minute you go over - while you're writing the post. Not after the fact. But then in a perfect world, I'd be God and we'd all be relaxing by the pool. LOL!

Hey there, is it just me? Or is no one else able to post now into the General CI Discussion: 4th season so far.. thread?
ie: there's no longer a REPLY or QUOTE ICON appearing for me there. Everywhere else on the forum is fine. So far anyway.
So I went off to look at the "top 10 most recent posts", thinking I could work around the glitch that way, saw a reply button for the last posting in the "4th season so far.." thread and clicked on it.
Got an error message:
you can't post, thread is locked, etc.
Gee.
Was it something I said..? Chuckle!
However in coming "here" I've noted it's happened before to others etc. So could you kindly fix that?
Mille grazie!

Ok, I'm having a similiar problem. I cannot respond to the "Bobby's Batcave" thread. There are no reply buttons. Help, pretty please.

I can't reply on the February 2005 thread. (I just hope this never happens on this thread - we won't be able to ask for help )

Here's a tech q:
Can the Members List also be sorted by date joined? That way we could welcome the new members instead of having to watch the bottom of the board indicator.
Another board I belong to (not Proboards) has the option to sort the member list different ways: date, alphabetical, most posts, least posts, etc.
Thanks!
D.
