Caligirl, in an interview Eric Bogosian said something about a romance for his character, and when we see someone bring in a box of donuts we'll know something's been consummated. nwchimom -- Thank you so much! Something about those fast-paced sentences at the end just lost me. I appreciate it. OK, now let's all discuss whether the appropriate adjective should be "Stableresque" or "Stablerific." You're welcome, Nancy. And regarding the appropriate adjective...if "Stablerific" is a joining of "Stabler" and "horrific," I'll go for that one.

Nwchimon, Stabler + horrific is precisely what I had in mind when typing. Hah! I'm just sayin', the donuts may not have made an appearance YET, but they are coming. Ross and Rogers are totally doing the grownup

Couple of things, mostly an apologia pro Stabler-- I may have mentioned this, but there already were doughnuts, in "Smile," in the scene where Goren shows Eames and Ross the memo Nestle gave him. I'd like to think that wasn't what EB meant Personally, while I don't find Meloni attractive compared to VDO, I can see why a lot of women (and men, surely) do. He IS attractive It's more the Stabler character that gets me: he's always kicking or punching something. That said, (1) I can rest assured that his career will not suffer because I like VDO better, as again, many people do not feel that way; and (2) it would make sense that the character would deal with the stress that his job incurs. I just saw a rerun that gave me a healthy respect for the Stabler character. It's the one where Eliot goes to the Czech republic to look for a little girl. The acting and emotion, together with the purpose of the episode, were very fine--I would recommend seeking it out. I wonder why SVU can't always be that way.

I'm not familiar enough with the LAW AND ORDER universe to know, but is the presence of donuts some kind of sexual code?
I'll have to watch the rerun closely tonight for this alleged sexual tension between Rodgers and Ross. And for Goren's alleged shove of Harper.

I don't know that I'm familiar enough either Patcat, or that it is, but I remember that in the SVU pilot Cragen keeps talking about jelly doughnuts the whole time ...
... heavens.

Anyway, my thoughts on this ep:
LOVED IT!!!
Visual:Brown shirt, brown shirt..!!!!
Line: "What were they??? They had no parents, no children..
"Well we don't always get what we want!!! Push!!!
It seems they are having these Goren reflections in each ep...last week it was "lonely man who only had books to keep him company"... Personally, I love the Bobby wompage. Let the man have a child! It's not so implausible.
How did he get away with pushing the perp when Ross couldn't have been that far behind, I thought. I got the impression that ME Rodgers and Ross had been fooling around the night before.
I think life jackets look small on anybody. On an equally shallow note, I didn't think Dana was THAT hot.
Wouldn't the statue of limitations on this codicil run out a long time ago?

I'm with you, maherjunkie, I didn't think Dana was all that hot either. To each his/her own I guess. I confess to thinking Stabler is pretty darn hot, too! As to Bobby's facial hair, the reactions seem to speak to the usual split between people who like a clean-shaven face and people who don't mind when the razor doesn't get used for awhile. LOL! I personally go either way, but something about that full beard on him really, really appeals to me. Techguy, I totally didn't notice the clothes looking too tight. I was too busy looking at his face. I'll have to give that another look when I watch it again.

I'll have to watch the rerun closely tonight for this alleged sexual tension between Rodgers and Ross. And for Goren's alleged shove of Harper. Patcat rewatching the falling of Harper, it looks more like Harper had his hand on the walkie talkie, and Goren yanked it pulling Harper into the water. So I guess in a way, Goren did throw him into the water. As for the codicil, I think its 3 yrs from the finding of the treasure, that means Roundtree had lied, so that means he commited fraud. So since they just figured out the fraud it is 3 yrs from the finding of the treasure. But the way Goren was talking if they don't bring up the boat the secret was safe? Thats why Harper kept going for the walkie talkie, to tell them not to raise the boat. So if they raise the boat, he and his family lose all the money, and It goes to the other side of the family. Anyone notice Arnie, from semi-professional is on for next week, and Logan throwing his gun on the bed and there is an FBI jacket there. Is that his bed? Then he punches the wall. Hmm can't wait.

Just watched the episode again and the Rodgers and Ross scene and yes, I saw something there. Also saw the Goren and Eames glance and Goren looked like he had a small smile on his face for a second there so who knows? Maybe they wanted to give us another couple to speculate about for a change. LOL

I'll have to watch "Depths" again to see if I pick up on anything suggested about Ross and Rodgers, and also what Goren did or didn't do to Simon Harper in the final scene. I didn't notice a push or shove but I could be wrong. Based on how Eames covered for Goren when Ross showed up Goren probably "encouraged" Harper to cool off in the water.
I'm no fashion maven, but somehow the clothing Goren wore didn't look right. Even Mrs. T commented on it, so at least I'm not alone in that observation. She also expressed a preference for seeing less facial hair, which certainly did not go unnoticed by yours truly.
I don't think Dana is all that hot either...and not just because Mrs. T was sitting beside me while I watched.

musicwench, I'm intrigued. What other couple beside Ross and Rodgers would we be speculating about?! ::innocent look::

I liked this eppy. It could have been better if we didn't have to deal with "Dale" the stable boy. It's only my opinion, but the guy just can't act. All in all, I found myself liking this eppy because it didn't deal with the angst and backstory of G/E.
By the way, am I the only one who noticed Goren was cleaned shaven with the coin guy? Then in the next scene, he has a fully grown beard?
