Ahh--many thanks, leanonme. Very good catch. Strikes me that that quotation worked to characterize Wheeler in a way that subsequent renditions have not. Yes, this is a great character and relationship development episode for Logan and Wheeler. So what happened? I do remember having high hopes for Wheeler after seeing this episode. But you are right, the ideas developed here seemed to disappear.

I received my copy of Blink in the mail this morning. As always I quickly looked through the index and chaper titles. I am intrigued by the chapter entitled "The Warren Harding Error: Why We Fall for Tall, Dark, and Handsome Men"!

Just finished Playing Dead by Allison Brennan, I couldn't put it down. Murder mystery. If they ever made a Goren love story with him going undercover, I could see him in this role. A Private Investigator thinks her father killed her mother and her lover when she was 14 she is now grown, he father has been on deathroe, but he has now escaped, she is grown, her father is an excop, an FBI agent has gone undercover and has become her boyfriend , to find out more about the excaped father, but has fallen for her, she is being stalked by the real killer. But you don't find out who he is till the end. Very good book. Playing Dead

I am intrigued by the chapter entitled "The Warren Harding Error: Why We Fall for Tall, Dark, and Handsome Men"! Wow,I remember seeing that and thinking about VDO and JG! Of course, they are guys that help correct the error! Then, I started noticing how tall many celebrities are. And the average height for men in the US is 5'9? Who knew?

I highly recommend Ken Follett's "The Pillars of the Earth" and its sequel "World Without End" both historical fiction. The first takes place in the 12th century the second in the 14th century. They are full of treachery, sex, violence, mystery, etc. Great characters to both root for and evil characters to root against. Huge books that you will not be able to put down and will not want them to end.

Tall, dark and handsome. . .my favorite! Did I mention I want a husband who is at least 6'? I don't care that I'm only 5'2". I want a tall man who can handle my extremely affectionate personality. Hint: I like to jump.

Recently I have become a Nora Roberts fan. I just finished Creation In Death. It is the story of a female detective named Lt. Eve Dallas, in the future, 2060. She is after a serial killer who carves the time it takes each person he tortures to die and their time of death. The killer got away from her and her partner years ago when she was a rookie. Now she is a seasoned cop and he is at it again.
I guess I am hungry for a new LOCI. I need some adventure.....

I love reading Nora Roberts! I've read dozens of her novels and I've also started reading one of the "In Death" ones she writes as J.D. Robb, and it's pretty good, too.

I'm reading The Murder Book by Jonathan Kellerman. Art imitates art: "Something different about him-like he thinks he's better than anyone. Drinks, but doesn't talk. Doesn't shoot the shit. Doesn't chase pussy. Weird." That remind you of anyone? A few more pages into the book, this detective's partner reads Smithsonian Magazine.

Never said.
Now that I'm further into the book, said partner was kicked off the force for having sex with prostitutes.

I've read several other books written by Kellerman. If a good mystery with good characters is what you're looking for, then I'd recommend his work.
