She was supposed to meet Woody that Friday morning at the fertility clinic. He never showed. It sounded like it was the first time they were scheduled for the procedure.

When I saw that scene I thought that it meant she was thinking about her next "prey". This "cougar" wanted a baby. She apparently would do anything, even kill to get what she wanted.

I mentioned this elsewhere, that I found the scene with Kathy in the nursery confusing. Since she never went through with the in vitro fertilization (Woody was dead by her hands) why was she in there humming to herself, stroking that stuffed animal, hanging up the Mommy & Daddy photo? Doesn't make sense. That whole scene just made her look like Psycho Woman (ie: The Hand That Rocks The Cradle). Hanging the picture up of Woody and her, when she knew he was already dead. Creepy.

I think Kathy has more than just a past romantic connection with Ross. She's an ex-cop, and I think we're meant to assume she's ex-NYPD. I think she has ties with some of the Brass in the Department, and possibly within the City and State governments. Ross feels the need to handle her with kid gloves not only because he's inclined to because of their past relationship, but because of her relationships with others. Patcat Good points Patcat. Kathy has managed to insinuate herself everywhere - so she's has lots of power, not only over Ross, but within the NYPD and more. What a schemer. What a gal! Scary! I keep thinking of Goren's face when he said she was beautiful - he looked like he had a mouthful of worms after he said it. Of course we *could* blame it on the sunshine, but we know better! I was surprised that since Kathy was an author, Goren didn't have her books stacked on his desk, loaded with Post-it notes, as he is prone to doing. He had obviously read them as he remarked that she'd written about spyware.

Perhaps the book thing was deliberately low key on Goren's part. Where he would have flaunted the research before, he's not flaunting it now. Interesting.

One more observation: I do think (or maybe, hope) that Goren staying in the background and letting Alex take the lead is a choice on his part (not the acting ... the character's choice). Taken that way, it makes a little more sense.

Oh, one more--sorry--
did you catch the shot of Rodgers after the morgue scene? They were definitely playing on the whole Rodgers/Ross shippiness *s*

When I saw Rogers give that "look" to Ross as he leaves, I thought she was jealous of this woman. Maybe Rogers saw her a woman who had all of Ross's heart. He did seem very sympathetic and maybe Rogers thought that he was still interested in her. A competition for this new Ross/Rogers relationship. Will it survive it even though Kathy goes to prison for her crimes? Hmmm...

Oh, one more--sorry-- did you catch the shot of Rodgers after the morgue scene? They were definitely playing on the whole Rodgers/Ross shippiness *s* I have a different take than Ladyheather. I see Rodgers as a confident woman who wouldn't be jealous without a tangible reason. I think that Ross had talked with Rodgers about his old friend Kathy & her situation (as much as he could, given the limitations of his position), maybe at one of their lunch dates in the Caf. Her look...empathy mixed with discomfort, IMO. She felt badly for him - his bubble getting burst & all about his old friend.

Ross' relationship with Kathy was long and it would be hard for a newcomer to know how to deal with it. Perhaps Ross confided in her hourly to reassure assure her that it wasn't impacting their relationship - but he probably couldn't. Perhaps her hanging head at the end of that scene included a feeling of helplessness that things just kept getting worse about Kathy.

Okay, I'll finally bite on this one, DonnaJo, lol! If it was their first time, surely they would be working with a fresh donation. But if there was frozen critters available, I'll bet she went through with it. I don't know much about the science, (maybe it was to insert a previously fertilized egg(s)) but she must have been pumped full of hormones. Hmmm, is that a defense??? Whatever, it sure made for a creepy scene in the nursery. This woman gets what she wants. Well, until the handcuffs went on at the end.... She wasn't too pleased with that. Will they *really* get a conviction for the young 'uns with that evidence? I guess they start searching the water now looking for more evidence.

Rodgers is WAY too much of a badass to be jealous of some lame Red Dress Chick. JMO

As I said in an earlier post, Rodgers looked like someone whose very good friend just got the rug pulled out from under him. Given the circumstance of the surroundings, she couldn't try to comfort him. Not in front of G/E or her staff now could she?

Will it survive it even though Kathy goes to prison for her crimes? Hmmm... I agree that the look (to me) was one of hurt and jealousy. Ross is all involved trying to save and comfort his former ex-girlfriend and that has to be a raw spot for Rogers. I agree Rogers is a confidant successful woman but on the outside so is Kathy. Ladies.....put yourself in Rogers' shoes. Your boyfriend's ex suddenly shows up playing the damsel in distress to the hilt and he falls all over himself playing Sir Galahad to the point of jeopardizing his career. Rogers had to have felt slighted somewhat. No matter how strong and confidant a woman is, she does NOT like to play second fiddle to another woman at anytime. Call it a territory thing if you like.
