Please forgive me if there is a thread on this somewhere else, but I couldn't find it. If there is, maybe the moderator(s) can delete this.
As some of you may remember, N.T. is my all-time favorite VD'O movie, which I guess makes it my outright favorite movie. How many of you have seen this? It's kind of a dark movie, and may not be to everyone's liking, but to me it is just awesome.
Any comments, pro or con?
If anyone's interested, I have a little piece of background info on Cholo (Vincent's character) that wasn't mentiioned in the movie. And did anyone notice that Vincent's name isn't even listed at the end credits, even though he's the STAR of the movie? It is listed at the beginning, though. Strange.

Hi Bammi It's not my favorite VDO movie. Like you said its a little on the dark side. Yet I am drawn to it. The dancing, the music. My favorite part is when Cholo says to Alba "the beauty your born with, dosen't count. The only thing that counts is the beauty that you make" He never really said much. but his eyes where always pleading

I know. His eyes said alot in that movie. I have to say I think that is the sexiest I have ever seen VD'O . The character is just so intense. Ruthless, yet appealling. I don't know, there's just something about Cholo.

I really like Naked Tango. I think the decor of the club (a/k/a "brothel") gave it a surreal effect. As we've seen on some eps. of LOCI, the boy can dance! ;-) I'm not sure if it's my fav, but it's among my top 5. I really like Vincent in Claire Dolan and I'd sit through The Winner any time, just to hear that scream of his at the end...what pain & suffering!

I'd like to know that bit of information about Cholo.
Like several of VDO's films, it's not the easiest thing to sit through at times. But it's mesmerizing and he's brilliant in it.

Oh, the little bit about Cholo (that I read in background information for the script) is that Cholo was born in a prison and that his mother was executed either the same day or day after (it's been a while!) for killing his father, who apparantly wasn't too good either.
So Cholo was an orphan from day 1. Which I guess is why he slept with horses; had no other place. Back in those days (1920's I think) in Argentina it must have been very difficult for a homeless orphaned child just to survive, which probably led to his "career".
I'm with you on the dancing. I just love it! I've watched this movie countless times. Never get tired of it, love it too much!

I'll come back in and write over this when the auction is over .... I have a listing on ebay item # 7546190316 that is all Naked Tango - but why I am posting here is because it has 3 items that I have never seen on Ebay before ..... so they can really be called rare. </pimp>

I liked Naked Tango. I thought VDO and Matilda May did an excellent job. The sets and lighting were perfect. It is a dark story but then so are most of VDO's older works. He likes complex roles.

NicoleMarie, is your reaction a response to actually viewing the movie, or just the price tag on eBay?

I can't say that I "liked" this film, but I'm certainly fascinated by it, and by Mr. D'Onofrio's performance. He looks like some sleek panther, and the film drips with sex and seduction.

My response is actually to both: seeing the film and its price on ebay.
As for liking it, my initial impression is NO. I need to see it again to absorb it some more...

I've never seen any of these movies! The only movie I've seen with VDO is Men In Black, which after having seen CI was just plain weird. I used to have Netflix, but quit in exchange for satelite television so I could see the new season. Bummer... *pout*
