I'm visiting this board for a time now and I really like to find some information about my favourite TV-Shows . So, coming to the reason why I opened this topic: over here in Germany (I apologize for my English, in advance ), we're just at the end of Season 12 (season 13 will start this fall; at the moment they're running re-runs of season 9, to be followed by re-runs of season 10 - although it was only one year since they first aired Season 10). I know all the seasons but seasons 13 and 15 (I spent a few weeks time in the USA, last and this year, where I caught some episodes of season 16) and I know from IMDB that J.K. Simmons has played Dr. Emil Skoda in 15x02 ("Dead Wives Club") for the last time. Therefore my question: did they write him out (was it a topic in the episode?), did he want to leave (since he had and has got other projects going on, as "The Closer" etc.) or ... ? Would be very nice if someone could answer that question - I really liked him in that role...

Welcome to the board, Jo I don't remember Skoda being written out. Would he need to be since he wasn't a regular cast member? I also really liked him in that role, but from what I've seen of The Closer, he's great in that role, too.

Welcome to the board, Jo Thanks a lot . It's nice finally writing here . Would he need to be since he wasn't a regular cast member? No he wouldn't necessarily... It just felt (especially in the episodes that have just been aired here) as if he was in every second episode making his diagnoses. Hence, I thought it would be strange if he just didn't appear any longer. But we'll see... maybe he's coming back... But, anyway: thank you very much for your answer . Now I don't have to wait until... fall 2007 or so, when season 15 might start over here . I also really liked him in that role, but from what I've seen of The Closer, he's great in that role, too. Yes, I agree - recently, I accidentally saw a few other movies and series featuring (guest) appearances of his and he was great almost every time.
