"We don't do dog homicides." LOL! Jesse needs more lines like that.

Good one, Sirenna!
There were some great lines last night, especially from ADA Cutter. His exchange with Lara Flynn Boyle (of the collagen lips) at the end was priceless.
This is the first season that I have religiously watched the mothership's new episodes each week. I adore Lupo (not as much as Goren, of course) who is young, intense, ethical & sexy.
The episode was RFTH - a group of rich, spoiled men involved in dog fighting, but then became a show about a murdered woman. The master thief from Silver Lining was excellent as the ring leader & the fire chief from "On Fire" was great as the Ulster County Sheriff who helps the Detectives & the DA's office nail the perps.
The teaser, which showed the dogs fighting & several dead, bloody doggie bodies, was disturbing. One of the dead dogs was this man's pet, who was kidnapped and thrown to the fighting dogs to get them worked up. Lupo & Green were obviously disturbed by the scene.
So sweet! At the end, Lupo adopts one of the dogs! Last scene is he & the doggie in the park together.

I didn't recongize her either. Her cheeks, I think. She'd looked cute as an older lady (and I mean that respectfully. As an actress her face could still fit many types of roles.) It took me several seconds to recognize her and it was really because of the voice.
I also liked the exchange between the ADA and Jack McCoy when Jack said "I'm dizzy. Make up your mind who you're going to prosecute!" The ADA was trying to get the innocent guy (the criminal Vance) out of the case as a defendant and the truly guilty guy back in the case and trying to do it without having to admit to Jack that he'd been too quick to prosecute someone before he had all the facts.
As for Lupo adopting the abandoned dog, I'm seeing a pattern here. He starts things he can't finish and has trouble holding onto things (People mostly like his brother and his lover.) I don't think he will finish law school since he doesn't seem to be catching onto the material quickly (Green teased him about spending half an hour reading the same page) and I don't see how he can care for a dog scarred by abuse when he works irregular hours as a police officer.
I'm extrapolating from barely nothing at all (as usual) but I see him dropping out of law school and giving up the dog eventually.

Does anyone know who dumped who in regards to Lupo and his one time girlfriend who is now his sister-in-law?
Perhaps he is trying to have something emotional in his life by adopting the dog. Something that won't abandon him or turn away from him. Something emotionally safe.

I was wondering what happened with the sister in law, both back then & now. We haven't seen her in the last few episodes. I suppose she'll be back in the squad room at some point. My opinion is that Lupo is still pining for her, and got the dog for companionship's sake. They never really said why Lupo & SIL split up way back when & how she wound up married to Lupo's brother. Maybe it will come up in the future. I remember the brother - Lupo was definitely hotter than he was.

I thought she met Lupo's brother first, married him, then started an affair with Lupo while married to his brother because Lupo's brother stopped communicating with her during their marriage (cos he had depression.) ...not that I'm trying to add to the rampant speculation on his love life... It's important we get to the bottom of who he has sex with...

For some reason, don't know why, I thought she was Cyrus' squeeze then they broke up and she began seeing his brother. I'm so confused......

yes, yes otherwise we wouldn't understand his character and the choices he's made as a policeman.. Anyone out there who's been paying attention to the plot rather than the character?
