HARD TO FIND VDO MOVIES
Hi everyone,
I wanted to share some information I found a while back that might help get some of Vincent's hard to find movies on to Home Video. I initially posted this info on "The Reel" then on the Sundance Channel. I thought members here might also find the information helpful.
Turner Classic Movies' website (http://tcmdb.com) lists most of VDO's hard to find movies like Guy, Naked Tango, Hotel Paradise, Taking of Pelham 1 2 3, The Investigator, Household Saints and the like.
What Turner Classic Movies does, and I've not seen anywhere else, is they let you vote to have movies released to Home Video. Here is the quote from Turner Classic Movie web site about voting: "Turner Classic Movies routinely sends your votes to major Home Video distributors responsible for releasing classic movies on DVD. So go ahead and vote and let your voice be heard."
To vote, you go to the main page, the search database section, type in the title of the movie you're interested in. Look through the list that comes up. Select the correct movie. When that movie page comes up, there will be a small section on the right of the screen where you can vote to have the movie released to Home Video. You must leave your e-mail address as part of the voting process. You can decided whether or not you wish to be contacted or not about your vote.
I've voted for all of the above mentioned movies. The movie "Guy" voting went from my original vote of one (that sad little 1 vote) to the now 212 votes and a rank of 113 (as of October 16, 2006).
Maybe if enough fans vote for these movies, they might actually get released to Home Video.
For those who are interested, "Guy" is being shown again on the Sundance Channel October 22, 2006 at 10:00 p.m Eastern Standard Time.
And speaking of the Sundance Channel, I'm signed up there and have posted a program request that the "Five Minutes, Mr. Welles" short film be considered by the channel for viewing. The short did receive good reviews at film festivals. Perhaps others here would like to add to my post request. It can be found at:

You'll need to sign up to the Sundance Channel in order to post there.
Who knows...fan requests just might have some influence.
