If anyone had a spare $2.6 million and an architect...
And...check out the last paragraph:With Law and Order still filming at an alarming pace, we don't expect this couple to relocate to Los Angeles any time soon. But, perhaps they are considering life after Law and Order (if there is such a thing) and know something about that time frame we don't.

Wow. Nice place.
Ok, I'm about to reveal that in spite of my postings that a celebrity's private life is his/hers that I do read gossip. I read that one of the major potential problems in a possible divorce settlement was Mr. D'Onofrio and his wife's real estate holdings. With this kind of money, I can understand why.

So, what does this mean?
Are they moving together to L.A? Does this mean that VDO does not plan to stay in NYC? Meaning, he is leaving CI? Are they moving together to another NYC location? Because they are back together, they do not need two ritzy homes and are selling this one? They are finalizing their divorce, and have settled their differences that Patcat mentioned?

Here's another report, from the NEW YORK OBSERVER: TV Cop D’Onofrio Sells for $2.6 M. The 47-year-old actor Vincent D’Onofrio, perhaps most famous for his portrayal of the eccentric Detective Robert Goren on Law & Order: Criminal Intent, has sold his East Village apartment for $2.6 million. The apartment, a condo in the imposing Christadora House on the east side of Tompkins Square Park, was actually two adjacent apartments. According to the listing posted on the CitiHabitats Web site by agent Danny Davis, Mr. D’Onofrio and his wife, Carin van der Donk-D’Onofrio, never knocked down the wall between the neighboring units. According to the broker, though, it would be wise to merge the apartments. “The combination will have three exposures,” said Mr. Davis, “with 50 feet of frontage on the park.” Together, the two apartments—which the couple bought together in December 1998—would have three bedrooms. There are also lots of 79-year-old furnishings, like cast-iron tubs and subway tiling. And the 684-square-foot living/dining room is quite Hollywood-ish. “The perfect spot for elegant dinner parties overlooking the park,” Mr. Davis said. “On the fifth floor, you’re right above the tree line, so it’s gorgeous.” “It just had a warm, welcoming environment,” Mr. Davis said. “Very laid-back atmosphere.” And while plenty of brokers in the East Village would relish the opportunity to market the apartment as a Somebody-Slept-Here property, Mr. Davis said he restrained himself. “Absolutely nobody knew who the owner was,” he said. “It was no one’s business! It was more about the apartment and the cachet of the building.” copyright © 2006 the new york observer, llc | all rights reserved

Now that I have had time to calm down, I cannot imagine Vincent relocating to L.A., no matter what happens to the show's fate.
Vincent hates Hollywood. My guess is that he & his wife desire to relocate in the city. She has her boutique & it is important to her. Perhaps they want to move closer to Elias' school or to Carin's store. Who knows?
I hope that "oddballs" don't take Vincent's address, which I see anyone can get, & stalk him or his family. We are not sure if they are currently residing there. The bedroom shot looks like personal items have been removed. I Hope that wherever they relocate, they are better at keeping it private. Perhaps that's another reason for the move?

Perhaps that's another reason for the move? I don't think he was living in this particular building. A friend of mine, knowing I'm a LOCI fan, emailed me a picture she found on the web of D'Onofrio's sister and mother at his apartment...and this wasn't it. (No, I didn't keep the picture, 'cause I don't wish to know about his personal life. But there are my 2 cents.)
