Oh yeah, it took me awhile to recover from that one. Did I mention I saved that pic so I can look at it when my screensaver slide show rolls? ;D *SIGH* We can take turns, y'all. There's plenty of him to hold onto. Oh, jeez! And this is turning into a Vincent Love-fest. ROTFL! Bad, OBC! Bad!

Slasher films usually have weird deaths. Remember the girl whose head wound up in the TV in the third Nightmare on Elm Street movie? Then there was the garage door mishap in Scream. Eeeee!

I hope I'll be forgiven for breaking into this t-shirt admiration society by pointing out that the film D'Onofrio is directing (in the photo) is a remake of the notoriously campy 1981 horror movie of the same name. Not a comment on his skill as a director but rather on his scant opportunities to direct. He must be very hungry to direct to have taken on this project.
Which leads me to a question which wanders through my mind from time to time: Why hasn't he ever directed an episode of CI? It's not unusual for a lead actor to get directing credits on his own show.
I believe I understand why he hasn't been given a producer title (like so many leading actors of TV series); Dick Wolf's attitudes about actors (and profit!) would seem to explain that. But -- since VDO reportedly has a lot to say to his fellow CI actors about acting anyway -- why no formal directing gig?
AL
P.S. Good to see that his wardrobe isn't all horizontal stripes.

Has Dick Wolf ever let any of his actors direct any L&O shows? I think it may just be a policy of his.
I'm unfamiliar with the 1981 film you mention, but my knowledge of slasher films is pretty limited. And if this is a spoof, it'll have to go a long way to beat the recent episode of PSYCH that was (for me) a hilarious sendup of those films. (My twelve year old friend Zach was puzzled as to why his parents and I were laughing so hard through that. It was very had to explain FRIDAY THE 13TH to him.)

I think so, too, Patcat. It might be DW-policy not to have actors direct episodes. I know that there were many problems in on the Star Trek Shows because of actors getting the possibility to direct a show. Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner were famous for head-butting over the issue, but there've been others down that road.

I don't think that is his daughter, the face shape is different, but she has hair like her. The girl in the picture has a round face, I remember Lelia as having a more oval face and being prettier than that girl but then being in the woods, maybe no makeup, well you know, I don't mean to insult the the girl she is cute, But I could be wrong.

But then again he could direct a Wheeler episode, but then he couldn't do other things on those days.

Ragin, the girl in the photo who's standing behind VDO & next to a young guy looks a bit like Leila. But in the group photo, the girl with the wiry reddish hair doesn't. I'm assuming it's the same girl. Therefore, I agree that it probably isn't Leila.
Annabelle, I looked up the original 1981 film on IMDB. Looks like total crap. And the comments were beyond horrible. I really hope VDO does a good job remaking this clunker.

.... Anyone curious what that thing is jutting out of that guy's bleeding neck? Stabbed to death with a keyboard? I don't think that's been done before in a slasher film. The first thing I thought of when I saw that was the great line from American Pie... "One time.... at band camp...." LOL!!! I really enjoyed those pictures, especially the one where VDO just has his hand resting on his son's shoulder.... so sweet

Didn't Jamey Sheridan get credited sometimes as a director on LOCI?

I caught part of that Psych episode, too. Pretty funny, what I saw of it.
