I noticed Katherine Erbe is going more brunette lately. This may seem like a trivial detail to mention but because of the symbolism of blonde vs. brunette vs. redhead among TV stars and characters, I thought it was worth noting. She's been going more brunette since coming back from maternity leave. Another thing that's changed is her character is stronger and has more lines. I wonder if they realized when she was gone how popular she is and that gave her more power. I wonder if that has anything to do with her easing up on the blonding of her hair. So many actresses seem to be expected to go blonde. Maybe they all want to but I doubt that. Blonde is still treated as the ideal look for a pretty woman on TV and in movies. Maybe Erbe is getting more clout and hence, more say over her own look? Or maybe I'm reading way too much into it.

rose i agree with most of what you are saying the only thing i do not exactly agree with is that kathryn erbe is goign more brunette, the reason i say this is beacuse if you look very carefully in the second season every so many episodes her hair would change form strawbery blonde to full blonde to a mixture of brunette and blonde. i think it has alot to do with her hair colour at the time each epsidoe is filmed. for instance do not forget that soem of these epsidoes may have filmed prior to her maternity leave and others after so there will be slight differences in hair colour make up and clothing in each episode depending on when it was filmed. i hope i have not offend you at all if so iam sorry. reagrads rom.

I don't think you have ever offended anyone, Rom, so don't worry And you are right about her having darker hair before, and about a lot of episodes being seen out of order. I really try not to pay attention to her hair because it changes back and forth during a season's episodes. She has really been more blonde than brunette for the most part of all three seasons, though, I think. I think her hair in Kiss of Death is closer to her natural color than what we are used to. But it looks really dark in that photo in the bio Metella posted. It was also very dark in Stir of Echoes. So I guess it's anyone's guess, really.

Hey Rom, Be sure to get a copy of the 5/20/04 edition of "The Age" in Australia. There is a great interview with Kathryn Erbe. I placed it in the interviews section. Domenica

I just posted a new interview with Ms. Erbe where she describes the fact that she and D'Onofrio have a complex creative partnership in the creation of their characters. She is definitely behind Eames' new look and increased importance. Kate, you go girl!!!! D. ************* Erbe describes the towering D'Onofrio as "fantastic and complicated and challenging" to work with. "It's always inspiring and has been quite a journey working together for as long we have," she says. "It's important to take time and think things through and be creative. He (Vincent) always does that and sometimes I have patience for that and sometimes I don't and we have sort of power struggles." So who wins? "A lot of the time I win, he's very generous in that way." ********

Domenica thanks for that i read article, it is intresting, i must admit she did sound like she was a bit irritated at vincent thoguh at parts and she certainly sound a little unsure as to how she acutaly felt about her. it was a good interview, the other interveiw was also good, i wonder how do they acutally find the time to do interviews and film a whole heap of episdoes, i mean they must be preatty knankcered after filming and i mean kathryn has two children a baby boy and daugther and i bet they take up a lot of her time, so how does that leave any to get press realses and interviews done aswell. the socnd interview i think has a better outlook beacuse she seemed to much happier during ti than in the first one., she also seemed to please with working with vincent and genuinley likes his genouristy and spirt. i agree these interveiws prove that kathryn is deifnatley behind the growing importance of eames and her new look. your rock kate reagrds rom.

I loved Eames' new look this season, not just with the hair but also with the new style of clothing. She has looked fantastic all through - super smart and sexy, if I may say that without getting into too much trouble. I love the long, straight hair, it's such a better look for her than the lighter hair styles she had in the earlier seasons. It really seemed as if her character suddenly grew hugely in confidence, and has suddenly taken total charge in a way that has not happened in any of the previous 3 seasons. Eames has really come into her own in season 4, and her new look is definitely a good thing.

I liked Miss Erbe's hair in many shows from season 1. In the next two seasons, it was shorter. Come season 4, it looks too long and is in her face, in her eyes alot. Someone on here said she needs to keep it out of hjer eyes, and I agree. To watch her makes me uncomfortable at times. How can she see what she's doing? As for her nautral collor, I recently seen "Rich In Love", courtesy of a friend. I think that is her natural color. I taped "Stir Of Echoes" off tv a few weeks ago. Hadn't seen that in ages.

I like her best with red hair. Sometimes she looks kinda old for her age, esp. int earlier seasons.

I just love the longer hair and her new role on the show! I think, from what I've read that VDO and KE's relationship is somewhat like Goren and Eames. An aquired taste
