After going slightly crazy laying my hands on anything I could with Vincent D'Onofrio in it, I now find myself looking for anything with Kathryn Erbe in it as well. I know from Stir of Echoes just how versatile she is, but that is nothing compared to her performance in Oz. I ordered season 3 from Amazon of this hard-hitting show just to see Ms Erbe in a completely different setting and character, and boy was it different. She really is a fantastic actress, and we're as lucky to have her on Criminal Intent as we are to have Vincent D'Onofrio. I normally wouldn't watch a show like Oz, but it was worth the time and the money to see her in such a different role. I hope that when her days of playing Alex Eames come to an end, we get to see her in many more great shows and movies, because she's a wonderful actress.

i've been watching Oz recently...and i like it. it's kind of a dirty, hard-hitting show...and to see our eames in it is kinda crazy...but she plays a good psycho...lol.
so funny seeing JK simmons, kathryn erbe, terry kinny, christopher meloni, rita moreno, bd wong, dean winters....all there together. all l&o or in some way related to l&o (terry kinny married to kathryn erbe...and now rita moreno guest starring on CI)....
then to see harold perrineau and...that big african guy whose name i can't pronouce...from my old (before L&O) favorite show Lost....cool.

Yes, she is a fantastic actress. I really enjoyed her performances in OZ - really brave, creative and just as full of disturbing layers as anything Vincent's done.
I think she's taking a secondary role in LO:ci and turned it into something more even forcing the writing (as Leight alluded to in his interview) to evolve her partnership with Goren into a partnership that is structured, delicate and fluid. They can work as police so intricately (and because they are so attuned as actors pver the past six years.) Sometimes, in an interview, they don't even need words during a scene. From their body language alone you see how they planned beforehand their interview points, how during the interview one distracts and other focusses , how either of them at any time jump in for the other and lead the interview in a new direction. The secondary partner maybe Eames but the secondary actor certainly isn't Kathryn. She wouldn't have been able to influence the change in writing their characters that Leight alluded to if she didn't bring more to the table than they had originally foreseen.

Amen to that, Sirenna. She really is excellent.
I recently saw her in "Naked City: Justice with a Bullet", and "Dream with the Fishes". What a difference in roles! To go from an air-headed tourist in "Naked City", to the smart, complex young woman that she played in "Dream with the Fishes" was a huge difference.
I marvel that the Powers That Be had the foresight and intelligence to cast KE alongside VDO. I don't think they could have made a better pairing. We have here two phenomenal actors who have made a show their own in a way that you rarely see anymore.

I read that Erbe guest starred on "Homicide Life on the Streets", I dont think she was in the episode much but she definetly left a mark. And from seeing her in that the creator of OZ decided to cast her in his show, and from that CI.
Here's the interesting part VDO guest starred on "Homicide life on the streets" just one episode before she did. But I'm sure most of you know that already.
