The new film by Quentin Tarantino staring Brad Pitt.
Saw it this past weekend. Holy cow. Good movie. It looks like a Tarantino movie in every way. Classic.

I saw this too. What a great film. I enjoyed it how they actually spoke in German and French and not just accented English (as a lot of other directors would have done)

A big thumbs up from me too. I'm a fan of QT and his films, it's amazing how he evokes different genres and pays homage to what they represent in film after film. It's obvious he loves movies and continues to make them for the viewing audience who shares his passion.

Have yet to see this one but I'm hearing reviews along the lines of suprising and suprisingly good.
I've been video-overloading the past two weeks from my local blockbuster (I know I know but no other choice) I've gone through much of their Action/thriller and horror section. I saw a good Tarantino that I've never seen before: Death Proof from 2007. Like you said techguy, he crams many different eras and genres into his movies and they all stylistically work in this one.

Not forgetting Tarantino's film-scores. He gets them right every time.
Looking forward to seeing his latest film which seems to be getting better reviews in Europe than it did in the States. I've never seen Death Proof Sirenna so - thanks - I'm going to check it out.

I suspect it's not likely to trouble Mr. Tarantino, but I'm not a fan. What others see as tributes to other films, I see as a director who doesn't have his own vision and has to steal it from others. And his style seems to involve throwing everything on the wall and hoping something will stick. But he obviously loves movies, although sometimes I wish he loved better movies.

pulp fiction was pretty original(although, now i come to think of it he did rip that genre off from, well, pulp fiction
The score in Death Proof is good. Themovie itself is pretty tame for it's gore (it's in the horror section of blockbuster)
I take a personal dislike to his use of coke, weed and hash - that's just dumb

I saw Inglourious Basterds - didn't like it. I mean it was ok - some funny moments but it seemed like a bunch of scattered vignetttes that happened to have the same characters in it.
The juxtaposition of time and place (some scenes take place before other scenes which actually happened earlier in the story) was meant to give the viewer a disjointed picture of events rewritten but, for me, it was just disjointed with nothing to lead me to emotionally invest in the next set of events.
disappointed.

i saw it and liked it, the best character was by far the crazy german colonel(very creepy but deffinatley fit the part), brad pit's character was fun but a bit flat at times.
