Jeff Zucker has signed on with NBC until 2013 (Ha...If the network lives that long...)
Bill O'Reilly is calling Dick Wolf all sort of names after O'Reilly, along with Glen Beck, Rush Limbaugh, and other conservative commentators were accused of inflaming anger towards immigrants by a character in this week's SVU.
Patcat (who, as an Irish Catholic, would like to apologize for Mr. O'Reilly)

I think the apology should be between Dick and Bill.
I also believe that it was the writers, not Dick Wolf who came up with insulting lines about the FOX personalties. Although in the end, "the buck stops" at Dick's desk
In the episode In the Wee Wee Hours, they had a character Faith Yancy, who was based on Nancy Grace, another FOX personality. I thought it was a bit of a mockery of Nancy, but they didn't use her real name. SVU could have gone the same route. Maybe they should have started the show out with a " Bill O'Brien show" clip

I agree that Dick probably knew nothing about this. The one responsible is the show runner for SVU. I hope he accepts any repercussions for acting irresponsible and using real names. I despise Bill O'Reilly with the heat of a thousand suns. Yes, he's angry. But in all fairness, the man is well known for being a bigot and against actually helping illegals (and gays, and welfare recipients, and minorities...). Why do people who have never had a friend who is gay or illegal or on welfare dare to judge? I hate that.

But, I don't see Bill as a bigot. Sorry but I don't, I just think that he believes that you have to draw the line as to 'giving a hand out" vs "giving a hand up"

Good thing I didn't watch that SVU episode. I'd have one less TV.
I listen to Beck every day. He's well-informed and absolutely hilarious when he and the crew get going on the comedy routines.
I am certainly not a nut and I resent that broad brush that Hollywood (and their writers) frequently use to paint with. It's getting old. Really old.

And if you're Jamie Lynn Spears you're a slut whereas Bristol Palin is of course, a sympathetic figure.

ITA, maherjunkie.
There are few people in this world that I find more dispicable than Bill O'Reilly and Glen Beck. Hate and fear mongers, the both of them, and so intent on dividing the country for ratings and the political goals of their employers.
They, along with their counterparts like Keith Olbermann, are the reason I only watch PBS news. Long live News Hour and honest, respectable journalism.

I also don't mind Olbermann most of the time, though I rarely find the time to watch him (only youtube stuff people send me.) I've spent more time with Anderson Cooper Going in *knowing* there is a slant is the crux, imo. After that it's just entertainment. I don't watch The Daily Show or Colbert for news, either Back to topic, I love it when Fox pundits get all indignant over stuff like this. Goes to show what hypocrites they are. They can dish to the evil, immoral, *frighteningly liberal* Hollywood, but they can never take it when it's handed back to them by the enemy. And before I forget again ... Cassie, spoofing a celebrity and mentioning them by name in a realistic everyday context are two totally different things, legally speaking. And Nancy Grace is a CNN pundit.

I listen to Beck every day. He's well-informed and absolutely hilarious when he and the crew get going on the comedy routines. OBC, I haven't seen Glen in awhile, I never heard him on his talk show. Ah geeze, there was a time when I watched him every night, he made me laugh so hard, when he would be discussing the Iranian President. I think he gave him the name President Tom, cause he couldnt pronounce his name properly. I just think he is sweet, and he's kind, plus funny, very funny and right on about alot of things And if you're Jamie Lynn Spears you're a slut whereas Bristol Palin is of course, a sympathetic figure. Funny, I didnt see Bristol Palin as sympathic, I saw her more of a thorn in her mothers side, while Sarah was running for VP. Jamie Lynn, I saw her being a questionable role model for young girls everywhere, but never a slut. ITA, maherjunkie. You really need to try out Glen Beck, he will make you giggle. ;D He is kind of like Jon Stewart, just a different angle. When watching the news, we all should listen to ALL perspectives, so we can see the real truth for ourselves. Each side can sometimes be extreme.

And Nancy Grace is a CNN pundit. As long as its legal, its OK Trish?, but what if some TV show was bashing a real life gay person for being gay? would you be offended? Would it be legal? Would there be an outcry, and outrage like Bill O'Reilly screamed? Are they more justified to cry out then Bill O'Reilly just because they are gay? And are you sure about Nancy Grace? cause I always thought she came on at 9:00 pm right after Glen Beck on the FOX channel. I surf so much. Sometimes, I never know what news channel I'm watching

Cassie, are you seriously comparing the political opinion of a guest-spot SVU character to gay-bashing?
I think that instead of me watching Beck, you might want to stand back from the tv and get a little perspective. The hyperbole appears contagious.
And, yes, I'm sure that the Nancy Grace show that was spoofed on CI was being aired on CNN at the time. She might be working for Faux News now, but not when Ms. SenGupta skewered her in ITWSH.
