We have a thread for venting spleen, so it's only appropriate to have a general, all-purpose thread for sharing positive and uplifting items with other members of the board.
The thread title also happens to be the title of the series finale episode for Star Trek: The Next Generation and is intentional, given the times we are in.
This thread is the place to post links to videos, news stories, poems, and anything else that will (hopefully) lift the sprits and enrich the lives of our fellow board members. We all could use a flow of positive energy from time to time, and this is the place to generate and find it.
I'll go first to get the ball rolling. Mrs. T showed me this video that someone posted on one of her Capitals/Ovie boards. It's the music video for Don't Give Up with Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush. The song is beautiful and appropriate on many levels. I hope you enjoy the listening and viewing experience.

Thank you Techguy (and Mrs. T) for the links. I have never hear that song before, and it was beautiful. I agree that we need to be positive (or at least not so negative) around here, especially in light of the sadness we are all going to feel after tomorrow evening. The end of an era. I will never feel the way I have felt about a show( LOCI) or a character (Goren) again. I'll keep this thread in mind when I get cute links from my friends and family.

Nice thread. Thanks for the links, Mr. and Mrs. T I go static on the first version, but the second one worked fine. Not only the title for the TNG finale but also part of the old English proverb "All good things must come to an end." It's far better to be the half glass full type than the half glass empty type any day.

Well, it's not a forward or a video, but we seem to have quite a few animal lovers here that I think would be cheered by my little story Last week a neighbour showed up on my doorstep with a *very* bedraggled little tomcat and wanted to know if it was ours. I ended up offering to deal with him for her (these neighbours are, shall we just be generous, not exactly responsible people). I put the scraggly bug infested kitty out in our garage. He's terribly sweet and affectionate and I couldn't bear to take him to the shelter to be put down. So, instead I hauled him to our vet, he tested negative for feline leukemia, got fully de-bugged and snipped and now he lives with us His name is Hamlet, and he's an absolute DOLL of a kitty. Extra bonus? He adores Finn and actually happily lets Finn manhandle him (with supervision, of course!). www.flickr.com/photos/sarahivy/4480872862/

Excellent idea for a thread Techguy. Nice story with a happy ending Sarah. Hamlet looks adorable and love the green eyes.

That's one handsome fellow. Looks like he might have a touch of Maine Coon about him.
Cats that aren't planned for seem to be the best. My "orphans" are loyal and affectionate when they're not planning and performing mischief.

You are so right, Patcat, our new guy has a very different outlook. Pixie and Rorschach are rescues as well, but they were kittens who grew up in the shelter/foster care and never lived on the streets (or the scary woods, like out here). At the very least they always had food and shelter. Little Hamlet seems to be just permanently delighted and appreciative about his new living situation. Of course the other two cats are having none of it....but every time Rorschach tries to pick a fight, Ham just rolls around and tries to turn it into a game.

SarahIvy, your contribution to this thread is exactly what I intended. Hamlet certainly qualifies, as he is a devilishly handsome cat, and lucky too. All the best to you both.

My late, greatly missed cat Peter recognized the theme to the Jeremy Brett Sherlock Holmes series because he knew I'd be sitting down for an hour and my lap was available. My two current cats, Max and Maggie, do not feel so kindly about the LOCI theme. I believe it's because they realize my attention will not be on them for an hour.

Ah, it's mid-April and the Stanley Cup playoffs are in the air.
I won't bore non-hockey fans with too much hype about the sport. See y'all in a few days.

No hockey thread this year Techguy? I was looking forward to your predictions and comments for this year's playoffs!

Not this time Mimi. Two reasons: my NY Rangers didn't make it and I thought I would be talking to myself if I started a specific thread for it. On a general note, the playoffs have started wild and unpredictable. Mrs. T and I are participating in person thanks to her (fanatical) support of the Washington Capitals. We went to DC last week and then left the country to follow them on the road to Montreal. BTW, what's up with the Canadiens' fans booing the US national anthem? How rude and boorish that was last night.
