I love these. And how many times I've heard those sounds from my cats.

I was trolling Twitter and found this on Alex Ovechkin's page LOL. The story about how the photo came about is pretty cool.
One thing about Ovie, he isn't shy about getting something he wants, even if it means jumping through the Secret Service hoops to get the pic. Caps fans have been lobbying for some time for President Obama to attend a game. I wonder if Ovie made his best pitch to the First Lady?
BTW, Mrs. T wants to go back to DC, the NHL playoffs start next week. The way the standings are now, the Caps would play the NY Rangers in the first round. Talk about a conflict of interest. A huge conflict of interest.

Techguy...hope the couch is comfortable! Habs are playing against the Big Bad Bruins and their captain "He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named"! I wish you and Mrs T exciting playoffs, but MY Habs are going to win it all!

OB, football is very good but hockey rocks my world.
Mimi, no couch for me, at least not yet. Mrs. T and I went to DC for the Caps 2 home games at Verizon Center. Needless to say, my wife was thrilled when the Caps won both. Then we did a quickie getaway to NYC for Game 3 at Madison Square Garden, and I was very happy the Rangers closed the gap to 2-1. So my wife and I both got something we wanted, it's just a shame both our favorite teams had to face each other in the first round. BTW, your Habs looked very strong going up 2-0, but like the Rangers, the Bruins made it a series tonight to take Game 3. Good luck the rest of the way!

Techguy, congratulations to Mrs T on her Caps winning the series against your Rangers! Hope you're not too disappointed? Habs lost their 2 games advance and now I'm eating my shorts.

Thanks Mimi. The Rangers have broken my heart too many times, you would think I'd be used to it by now. I have no problem adopting Ovie and the Caps to root for in the playoffs.
BTW, don't look now but your Habs just forced Game 7 vs. the Bruins tomorrow. Hang on to your hats, and good luck!

Yep game 7 and I couldn't watch because I was in class. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise!
Ah well, go Red Wings go!

Too bad about your Habs Mimi. They put up a good fight, so be proud of them.
Mrs. T almost threw her remote at the TV during the Caps game 1 vs. the Lightning. Tomorrow night there will definitely be a conflict of interest, good thing we have 2 TVs. She'll be in the living room watching game 2 while I'm in the den watching CI's season premiere and composing a new poll.
Good thing I have my final 2 term projects done as well as my Master's thesis which I defend next week.

Gee, I wonder if I'd get in trouble with Bettman and NHL for posting this?!

Why do you think there would be trouble NikkiGreen? Canada hasn't had a Stanley Cup champion since 1993, when the goalie in my sig played for the Canadiens.
I'm a fan of the Sedin twins and Roberto Luongo, so if the Canucks win it all, good for them. I also wouldn't mind if any of the other 3 teams win the Cup, they all have players that I like a lot.

The NHL have been making waves. There is a deli type business who had a sign to support the Habs. They were asked to remove-the guy received a bill for $89,000 from the league's lawyers. There's a car dealership which was asked to remove its Go Canucks Go sign from the marquee-they simply covered the 'Ca' and left it as nucks. Something about copyrights or some such crap. There is a multi-millionaire by the name of Jim Pattison who owns quite a few businesses including the Save-on-Foods/Overwaitea food chain. I bet they'd never get asked to remove the Go Canucks Go signs from any of its businesses. So, is Ovechkin leaving the Caps? There was some report last month stating he'd asked to leave.

NikkiGreen, I'm not up to speed on copyright laws here in the USA, much less Canada. Still it seems like going overboard to prevent businesses from showing their support for the Canucks. For what it's worth, we Yanks don't take kindly to being told what we can and cannot do in such matters. But that's just me. What you describe all seems so silly.
No, I haven't heard anything about Ovechkin wanting to leave the Capitals. Believe me, if this story had any traction, Mrs. T would have been all over it. I ran it by her and she thinks it has to do with his participation in the World Championships, playing for Team Russia, after the Capitals were eliminated from the Stanley Cup playoffs. The Capitals GM and owner were OK with it so no harm, no foul.
