I suppose this is as good a place as any to post this, last weeks episode garnered 3.075 mil. viewers but the demo dropped to 0.8 in the 18-49 age group. I read that USA has renewed " Burn Notice" for two more seasons, it got 6.6 mil. viewers in it's return debut with a demo of 2.6 up 10% from it's premiere show last year. also " Royal Pains" did well on it's return with 5.8 mil. viewers and an increase of 5% from last year. I'm wondering if they renew C.I. how they can justify it when the other shows are doing so much better? ?

But that's just for one week. What is the average viewers overall?

And ratings aren't the only factor in the renewal of a show, as we've all experienced. Cost is very important. I'd guess LOCI's costs have dropped since the departures of Mr. D'Onofrio, Ms. Erbe, and Mr. Bogosian.

Ratings may or may not factor, but the Demo certainly should I would think. Last Tuesday the show was at 2.972 million 2.1/4 H.H. Demo: .08/2 for 18-49 age group. With these numbers a renewal would have to mean wolf making a deal with NBC/USA to keep the show on only because he would lose two shows in one year, not likely he would allow that without a fight. As to the overall numbers, last season I remember someone here keepling a chart of the episodes, can anyone here make a chart for those interested in the numbers ( or in the show for that matter) There seems little if any interest on any of the boards this year.

I am not watching, but I read the episode comments and the overall feeling I get this season is that they are playing to the lowest common denominator to pull in that younger demographic. And it's not working. But it is managing to annoy the older fans.
Soon as I read the casting notes for the vampire ep, I knew they'd really lost their minds. They are capitalizing on Twilight and True Blood - and it's lame. The franchise used to be about innovating - not about copying.
I hope y'all get a S10. I don't think it's going to last past that. And SVU will be done and over with in 2012 when the contracts are up. LOLA will be the last one standing - IF it makes it. Who knows...

I posted this info on the wrong thread, the ratings averages for C.I. are: Season seven: 4.5 aveage, Season eight: 3.9 average, Season nine ( to date) 2.94 ( goldbloom episodes0. Not a stellar number for a new revamped show.

And a ripoff of Collective! - I'd forgotten about that episode. I've always liked that one though.

Unless the ratings start to go up considerably, I agree with OBC that this will be the final season for LOCI. Even with the cost cuts (cheaper salaries for cast) the show has to be a viable moneymaker, and it isn't right now.

Didn't quite know where to put this observation, but it is now wed. night/thurs. am and I find it interesting that no topic thread for tuesday nights show is up. Honestly? I haven't made the time to watch it yet. If this was Goren and Eames, nothing could have stopped me from watching the episode when it aired Tuesday evening. Now, it's on my DVR and I still haven't seen it. I will, probably sometime today after work. But LOCI isn't a "must see" anymore. For me, its taken its place alongside several shows I eventually get to on my DVR. Sad.

I'm troubled by this development as well. I had a good excuse for missing this week's episode--Babysitting for friends, which would've taken precedence even over a Goren/Eames episode--but I'm clearly not as emotionally involved as I used to be. And I don't mean that as a criticism of Mr. Goldblum or his fans, by any means.

As no one seems to be discussing the episode for Tuesday June 22nd ( title escapes me) something about a gangster? anyway the ratings were 2.7 mill.with a 0.8 demo, not good numbers. Last single episode june 29th, two episodes back to back to finish the season ( the series as well? anybodys guess) July 6th, first one at 9.pm. second and last episode at 10p.m. The shows fate will then be decided, if anyone cares!

I'm not surprised. This has all gone exactly the way I thought it would.
