I can't praise this remarkable book enough. THE MEMORY PALACE by Mira Bartok is a memoir of her life as the daughter of a schizophrenic mother. It's harrowing, moving, and extraordinary. From the LOCI follower's perspective, it provides some insight into the character of Robert Goren. It appears that someone on the LOCI writing staff researched schizophrenia and applied it very well to the character of Frances Goren. I feel much more sympathy for both Robert and Frances Goren after reading this book. That's a somewhat superficial reaction I suppose. This memoir is about real life, after all, and I felt deeply for Ms. Bartok and her sister as they tried to deal with their mother and still have their own lives. I can't recommend this book enough.
