angua, your post makes perfect sense and it's something I hadn't thought about, but I completely agree. Bobby would not put Severin in a compromising position career-wise. And there is fan fic concerning various male pairings from the mothership. Patcat, one of my favorite examples of Goren's ethics was in Purgatory when Stoat asked him if ever passed around drugs to low-level perps to nab the bigger fish. Goren's incredulous "no, never" response was fabulous.

As many of us know, with a psychotherapeutic relationship there's always the possibility of transference.
However, as I understand it, the shrink scenes will be just a few minutes long -- completely separate from the crime story -- and therefore possibly excised in future syndication deals to make room for additional commercial spots. CA-ching.
So if you want to keep and review these scenes, do plan on recording the original USA airings.

Insightful as ever Annabelle - it's a good CA-ching(ing) for all involved.

Unless I'm gauging these people wrong, they would never cut a makeout scene for commercials.

It seems strange to me that USA would make such a big deal about Goren seeing a (brilliant) psychiatrist and cast a beautiful high profile actress for throw-away scenes. Maybe just a hook to boost ratings for season 10?
