'Law & Order: CI' To Do Episode Inspired By Botched 'Spider-Man' MusicalWhat if one of the many incidents of actors getting injured on Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark had a tragic outcome? Law & Order: Criminal Intent will explore such a scenario in an upcoming episode clearly inspired by the debacle that the Spider-Man musical had become, TVLine reports. In the fictional version, the splashy musical is titled Icarus, from a high-strung director and a secretly bisexual rock-star composer. This is the latest episode of the Law & Order franchise featuring ripped from the headlines storylines this season. CI is also doing an episode starring Jay Mohr as a Charlie Sheen-like character and Law & Order: LA is doing an episode inspired by the murder of Hollywood publicist Ronni Chasen. www.deadline.com/2011/04/law-order-ci-to-do-episode-inspired-by-botched-spider-man-musical/

I agree Patcat! What a great story to "rip from the headlines"!

Sounds interesting. I'll bite. They've taken on the church, politics, the medical community, and police corruption, why not Broadway?

I'm curious - I live in NJ and work in NYC, so we've gotten tons of news coverage of the saga that is Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark. Is it getting a lot of play outside the NYC metro area? I guess it might, considering the U2 connection, etc.
That being said, it definitely has the makings of a good episode. Between this, the Rispetto clips, I'm really starting to feel optimistic about this season!

Here in South Carolina we have heard about it but I couldn't even tell you that U2 was involved. That was news to me. I like how that Gothamist article ended with Goren at a warlock convention he would definitely slay them all! I am impressed with all the coverage these 8 episodes are getting. Even TV Line has this story and has 2 featured articles on LOCI currently on their site. That is surprising considering their editor has never been a LOCI fan. I certainly hope people tune it.

There was a Spiderman musical? Hilarious! If this were to be used for LOCI then I hope there'd be some good jokes by Eames or Goren.

This sounds like a very interesting and fun episode indeed (see the casting call for "Icarus" on another thread). There's lots of opportunity for humor and snark, which is one of the things I said I wanted to see in Season 10.

Everyone, including Techguy, is looking forward to this one. I hope we're not all jinxing it.

I've heard and read about SPIDERMAN's troubles. News of it has reached the wilds of Indiana, but I love musicals and theater and tend to follow the news about it.
The influential critic is an interesting character. It's generally believed that the only critic that really matters is the one for the NEW YORK TIMES. This character appears to be based on Michael Reidel of the POST. I don't know if he's gay, but he's more of a gossip columnist than critic, in my opinion.

Patcat A bit OT but right now the NY Times is in my bad books, because one (female) reviewer of HBO's "Game of Thrones" insinuated that this was basically a guy's series and that women don't really like that kind of thing. I'm saying this as a woman who loves GRRM, can't wait to get his new book, and wishes she had HBO and/or could B***h-slap the moron into next week.
