Relationships between parents and adult children are sometimes complicated. In a normal, loving and supportive family most problems can be resolved. It's unfortunate that televsion can't/won't or is unwilling to portray a well adjusted, well rounded functional family. So we're going to see Eames go up against her father for the sake of drama. Boring. Well, there was The Brady Bunch, The Cosby Show, Happy Days, and now, Modern Family! But LOCI is not a lighthearted show. It is about terrible crimes committed by troubled people and the detectives who have their own sad pasts - Bobby, with his unfortunate childhood (mentally ill mom, deadbeat stepdad) and Eames, becoming a young widow and then carrying a baby that she didn't get to keep.... IMO a happy cheery father/daughter scene wouldn' t fit in and wouldn't tell us much more about Alex. I think we will learn a lot more about her character in "meaty" scenes. Besides, "complicated' doesn't mean they have to have a huge fight and never speak again! Maybe we will see some conflict and resolution like Moonbeam described. I'm looking forward to seeing a little bit more into Eames' background!
