Somewhat surprised he doesn't have his own thread (g). Mr. Wolf is one of three recipients of the 2005 Brandon Tartikoff Award, presented by the National Association of Television Producers. Patcat

The National Public Radio program FRESH AIR will have an interview with Mr. Wolf today, March 11, 2005. If FRESH AIR doesn't air in your area, you can access the program around 2pm EST at npr.org
This may be a repeat of an interview of several years ago, but even if it is, it's an entertaining one.

yahoo news. comWolf takes new path to 'Power'By Andrew WallensteinLOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Dick Wolf is ready to take the fifth with NBC. With four series already on the air, the "Law & Order" mastermind is in development on another legal drama for the peacock. Wolf has three versions of "L&O" on NBC and a new series, "Conviction," set to begin March 3. "Power," the newest series from Wolf, will follow a task force of young federal agents and U.S. attorneys investigating Hollywood power brokers involved in everything from wiretapping to extortion. Like "L&O," its stories would seem ripped from the headlines. But unlike everything Wolf Films has ever done in the scripted arena, the new series will not be a traditional procedural with story lines that wrap up at the end of each episode. "It's going to be a major departure for my company because it is a truly serialized drama that is in an area of endless fascination to me: the nexus of federal enforcement and Hollywood, and how those worlds collide," Wolf said. Wolf is switching formats for "Power" because the ongoing nature of the investigation depicted in the series lends itself to serialized storytelling. But an even more compelling reason for the change, he said, is that new technologies like Apple's iTunes and DVD are opening roads to after-market revenue beyond traditional syndication. "I think that is going to change things because the business model that I have adhered to religiously was always self-contained episodes," Wolf said. "You see the numbers that 'The Sopranos' and '24' are doing for DVDs, but for these types of shows there is now a whole new revenue stream that is virtually incalculable." No timetable is in place for "Power's" addition to the NBC schedule, but it's highly unlikely for fall 2006. "Power" is seen as an example of the peacock's off-cycle development efforts. If NBC greenlights the series, Wolf said, it would shoot in Los Angeles. Reuters/Hollywood Reporter

YahooNews.comLegendary rockers 'The Doors' to be revived on screen for 40th anniversary.LOS ANGELES (AFP) - The iconic 1960s rock band The Doors will reportedly be reunited on screen in two new documentaries to mark the 40th anniversary of the group's founding. According to Daily Variety, producer Dick Wolf is preparing a feature-length documentary that will play in theatres, while chronicler Stacy Peralta is making a social history to coincide with next year's four-decade milestone. Wolf's film will be directed by Bill Guttentag, who won an Oscar for his documentary "Twin Towers" in 2003. It will show never-before-seen archive footage and interviews with the parents and sister of Doors frontman Jim Morrison, who died in Paris in 1971 at the age of 27 after a meteoric rise to fame singing hits like "Light My Fire", "Break on Through" and "Riders on the Storm". The three living members of the Doors will co-produce the film. The second film, "Six Nights, Six Records, Six Years," a social history as seen through the Doors' lives and music, will be directed by Peralta, who wrote the skateboarding movie "Lords of Dogtown," Variety said. The movies are part of a concerted effort on the part of the surviving band members to expose the Doors' music to a new generation of fans. A number of musical compilations will also be released for the 40th anniversary of the band formed in Los Angeles in 1967. contactmusic.comTHE DOORS SET TO RETURN TO THE MOVIES.Iconic rock act THE DOORS are returning to the big screen in two new documentaries. Top TV producer DICK WOLF will team up with RAY MANZAREK, ROBBY KRIEGER and JOHN DENSMORE - the three surviving members of the band - for a new interview-based historical documentary. And surf icon-turned-filmmaker STACY PERALTA is developing SIX NIGHTS, SIX RECORDS, SIX YEARS, which he describes as a social history, set to the music of The Doors. Wolf's project will include interviews with the family members of late rocker JIM MORRISON, who have rarely appeared publicly to talk about the flamboyant frontman. Oscar-winner BILL GUTTENTAG will direct Wolf's project.

nypost page sixDICK WOLF CALLS IN THE EXPERTS Page Six - Richard JohnsonMay 15, 2006 -- IT'S no secret crime-show czar Dick Wolf is eyeing the exploits of slimy investigator-to-the-stars Anthony Pellicano as an inspiration for "Power," the new TV series he's developing about young hotshot prosecutors going after corrupt Hollywood honchos. What wasn't known until now is that the red-hot "Law & Order" creator has brought on board two consultants guaranteed to make sure Pellicano's dirty tricks are portrayed with dead-on accuracy - namely, reporters Anita Busch and John Connolly, both hapless victims of The Pelican's heavy-handed tactics. Busch, you'll recall, is the tenacious Los Angeles Times scribe who in 2002 was working on a story about the soured partnership between Pellicano client Steven Seagal and Staten Island pharmaceutical purveyor Julius Nasso. As she dug away, a hired Pellicano thug allegedly fired through her car windshield and placed a dead fish with a rose in its mouth and a sign reading "Stop" on the hood. Busch was also allegedly wiretapped by Pellicano. He's now accused of trying to order a hit on the thug, Alexander Proctor, to keep him from squawking. Vanity Fair writer Connolly, who's penned numerous pieces on Pellicano and is doing a biography of him, "The Sin Eater," has also felt the shamed private eye's heat. He's reportedly been told by the feds that Pellicano threatened his life from jail. Pellicano, whose clients included some of the biggest stars in Hollywood, is doing 30 months in a federal pen for possessing illegal hand grenades and explosives found in a search of his office related to the probe of the Busch threats. He's also pleaded not guilty to wiretapping such celebrities as Sylvester Stallone to gain legal advantage for his clients. "The Pellicano story is the hottest story on both coasts. So it makes perfect sense that Dick go for it with his famous ripped-from-the-headlines approach with absolute accuracy," a source close to the producer told Page Six's Bill Hoffmann. Wolf's camp wouldn't confirm or deny our story, but Connolly told us: "Dick and I had a nice lunch, and he said, 'I want to bring you on board.' They want to pick my brains. I just signed the contract."Sources said Wolf is also approaching other journalists for advice. He told Variety that "Power" will be told completely from the point of view of law enforcement.

nypost.com'LAW & ORDER': I DOBy DON KAPLANJune 21, 2006 -- 'LAW & Order" creator Dick Wolf, the reigning king of crime TV, landed a new queen last Saturday. Wolf married former fashion publicist Noelle Lippman, 36, in a small ceremony at St. Patrick's Cathedral. The pair then dined together at La Goulue on Madison Avenue, and later met family and friends for a reception at The Four Seasons. This is Wolf's third marriage. He was divorced last year from his wife of 22 years, Christine Marburg, with whom he has three children. Lippman, who until recently owned her own fashion-industry publicity firm in Los Angeles, is a former actress who appeared in three films during the 1990s, soon after she graduated from college. Despite her short-lived film career, Lippman did land significant parts in movies with casts that included Yaphet Kotto, Janeane Garofalo and Michael Madsen. The pair will head to the Monte Carlo Television Festival next week, where Wolf is considered a state dignitary - he serves as Monaco's Honorary Consule to the Western United States. He will be joined at the festival by an assortment of actors from his shows, including "Law & Order: SVU" star Richard Belzer and the latest addition to the cast of "Law & Order," Alana De La Garza. After that, Wolf and Lippman plan to tour Europe together for their honeymoon before Wolf returns next month to begin filming new episodes of his "Law & Order" series.
