I want to post images and things and I noticed that there are a lot of interesting buttons on the reply tool like glow and shadow and url. The trouble is I don't know how to use any of them. For instance how do I get my text to glow or add an image? PS could you make your instruction really simple, I'm a bit computer challenged.

Sirenna, the buttons work exactly like the quote or color options. For example, if you want a word or portions of text in your post in color, after you click on reply and get the white message box, you will select a color from the drop down box. You will see a color= in [ ] and a /color also in [ ]. Whatever word or text you insert between the two [ ] will be in the selected color. That's how I customize all my posts in Red.
Similarly, if you click on the G button you will get a glow= in [ ] and /glow also in [ ]. If you put a word or other text in between both [ ], those words will.......[glow=red,2,300]GLOW[/glow]
You can underline, italicize, or boldface too!
I know the admin/mods have a rule about animated images and probably won't want to see this effect on the board so it's just for illustration purposes only. You can get your text to move by clicking on the Marquee button (the M with a left arrow), so whatever text you place in between the move= [ ] and /move in [ ] will.......
And for my next trick, here are ALL the above buttons illustrated: [glow=red,2,300][/glow]
To add an image without hotlinking, you have to have a host site for your pictures, such as the free Photobucket which is where I have my avatar and signature photos. When you post the image, you will type img in [ ] and /img also in [ ] and place the url address for the photo in between both [ ].
What all these commands in [ ] are saying is, you start doing whatever (color, quote, image) with the first [ ]; the / command in [ ] at the end means stop doing whatever you started.

Janethyland, can you tell I have too much time on my hands tonight? Either my instructions will help Sirenna get in the groove, or else she'll wonder if I'm playing an early Halloween trick on her! ;D

Well, I still must have too much time on my hands. I see Sirenna has been back on the board posting but hasn't replied here. I wonder if my "instructions" scared her off?

Well, I still must have too much time on my hands. I see Sirenna has been back on the board posting but hasn't replied here. I wonder if my "instructions" scared her off? Not at all, techguy. ;D ;D ;D ;D I've always been scared of computers. I posted a bunch the night before last but all about the show. Since I'm probably the most tech-challenged person I have ever met this thread is not the first one I think of when I get a chance to post. I saw your post though and it made me did make me smile. It was just too late and I was too tired to give your techy suggestions the effort they deserved. I've since learned the [glow=red,16,300] [/glow] but the GLOW still eludes me... I've clicked on the glow and coloured it red and tried to move my mouse over it in case that triggered it but still no glow Just a suggestion but there could be a wiggle button that makes the letters jiggle and wave. I don't know why we would ever need to do this but I bet it could be done.

Curiouser and curiouser is that the moooove starts in the middle of the page but the smiley starts at the end, even though I used the same move coding for both. Yet by the end of the travels they both exit stage left at the same time.

Sirenna, your mooove is glowing so you must have done it right!
And yes I also noticed some of the movers start in the middle and others like the emoticons from extreme stage right. It looks like it's the glowing movers that start in the middle--in the example I posted my plain MOVE started from far right but the glowing one in the middle. Your glowing mooove also is a middle starter, so that might be an artifact of the Proboards setup.

I see it on my work computer but not on my home computer. It was my home computer that I used to do it.

Some can see the glow and others not? And on some computers and not others? Curiouser and curiouser indeed--this might require a question to the admin/mods.

It may well have to do with the type of browser being used.
When I use Netscape 7.2, I can't see the [glow=red,2,300]glow[/glow] either. However, there is no such problem if I use Internet Explorer on my office computer.

I thought as much, unfortunetely my internet server doesn't get along with safari and explorer hasn't updated for Mac since version 5 so I'll just have to miss the "glow"
