I would say there could be any number of private, personal, ethical reasons to not answer a question or to just answer it briefly. I respect Mr. Balcer for staying out of the season 6 questions - as really ..... it is not finished morphing, the jury is still out, and it is in other's hands now.
I say, I do appreciate the dry tone. I do appreciate the professionalism shown in this very Extensive interview. That was a bundle of time you gave to us & that speaks volumes about YOU, Mr. Balcer. Thank you.
I like interviews with "real" people, and people who have worked and succeeded in there areas far more than celeb interviews. !

See I didn't stayed silent and it left the door open to interpretations...now imagine how wide-open that door is when someone elect not to say anything. Let the personal interpretations roam free in the room! What I meant is that instead of picking questions, he knew he would answer in the same manner, he could have picked another one that he could give an answer to! That's it! I love worming information out of people, so...in my personal view those questions were lost! And since it wasn't a face to face interview, the silence didn't say anything more than silence. Silence can speak volumes indeed when your have the speaker in front of you! I also respect that he didn't answer the personal stuff, it wasn't an attack, but more an admiration of his character.

As Thumpers mother says, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."
But, he did answer one question about this season, perhaps inadvertently, in answering my question about censoring tv for violent content.
Social responsibility over ratings is what I'm inferring here. It's a safe bet that he doesn't approve of Warren's stalker cam, even if he won't come right out and say so.

Mimi and others who may be tempted to add your own personal interpretation to some of this ......
I don't want to censor your imagination - but be aware that I edited many questions and left many out and re-worded some all in order to present to Mr. Balcer a coherent format. If we submitted the questions as they were scattered all about (some nearly identical) I fear no interviewee would answer them - or get them back to us in the same year.
So take care with your "interpretations" as you don't know the final format of the questions given to Mr. Balcer.

Point taken, Major. I'll not let my imagination run away with me, or put words in Mr. Balcer's mouth. Sorry.

Mr. Balcer, I respect your professionalism and loved the chance to read what a creator thought of the process. Thank you SO much for the time and effort you put in for the nosy fans who never (ha!) overanalyze anything.
To the moderators who set this up, thank you for your time and efforts when herding cats to make this work. Love y'all, mean it!

Here I agree; I think this is why we felt about CI how we did. RB in creating this world - and the other writers for enhancing it - they all put in some real care into this & it was reflected in their work. They were striving for authenticity and realism within the parameters of a weekly show. They succeeded. It was a wonderful piece of art! I certainly enjoyed the ride.

Again, I can't thank the board administrators and Mr. Balcer enough for this terrific opportunity. My only problem is that I now have a long list of follow up questions (g).

I cannot believe I have JUST now noticed this interview is here! Thank you Mr. Balcer for answering some of my questions and your insights into CI. I like being able to get a glimpse into the mind of both you and CI, and seeing how you both "tick". So thanks again!
