Last night was Vogler's third episode. His first was called, quite appropriately enough, Control. He donated $100 Million to the hospital and felt, with that, he should be made the Chairman. He used the money his father had saved for his college to NOT go to college. He used the money instead to buy a small business, not bothering to inform his father at first. Dad was not too pleased, leading to an estrangement from his Dad. Chi McBride is supposed to be in for a total of 5 episodes. Only 2 more to go (keeping fingers & toes crossed)!! I have a very strong dislike for Vogler. A lot of people do. Chase made a huge mistake in Control. It wasn't an unintentional error -- Chase was too busy chatting up a Nurse, instead of paying attention to what should have been done. House was furious with him. They didn't make it known then, but Chase 'ratted out' House to Vogler in that episode. ETA: It would seem that the show 'hit a series high' in the ratings last night. tv.zap2it.com/tveditorial/tve_main/1,1002,272|94433|1|,00.html

I really enjoyed HOUSE last night...and I'm glad you say that Vogler has only signed on for 5 episodes....I cannot stand that pompous arrogant arse.... Two more to go...Well DR House had better send him running with his tail between his legs...because that man deserves everything House can throw at him. That man has irritated me to no end....which I guess means he is a good actor and the writing is fantastic......or, I wouldn't feel so strongly about this character... Glad I had a chance to get that off my chest....Off the soapbox now...lol Feel a lot better. Shadow

Nikki--Thanks for the update.
I have no problem with Chi McBride--a fine actor--but this character is not believable for me. And I thought Cuddy was supposed to be House's foil? And, as I wrote, I don't find Chase's change of heart to be believable, but I clearly missed an important episode.

Control was an extremely important episode (it was also very good ) One of the vulgar things Vogler asked Cuddy was if she was sleeping with Dr. House. She gave a definite NO as an answer. The matter of whether Cuddy & House have a personal history was left open. She simply stated that he had no business asking her such a question. For some unexplained reason, Vogler has a problem with House (that was the case even before Vogler laid his eyes on House). His first question to Cuddy was why wasn't Dr. House wearing a white coat like other doctors. Vogler wants to get rid of House's diagnostic department because Dr. House is not producing large sums of $$$$$ for the hospital. ETA: Time Magazine just listed the best 6 dramas currently on in its recent issue. House is one of them.

According to the New York Post www.nypost.com/entertainment/43960.htm, Sela Ward will be appearing in the last two episodes of this season. She'll be playing Dr. House's former love and the viewers will learn about his leg injury.

I hope HOUSE isn't making the mistake of telling us too much about the characters, especially House. One of the things I like about LOCI is that it gives just enough information about Goren and Eames to make them interesting and then leaves a lot of gaps to speculate about.

I just got hooked on House recently myself. I even still had the premiere episode in DVD from EW - yay!
I hope they're not making a mistake either, PatCat. It seems far too early to me to be "shaking things up" with Volger (who is a complete jerk - also, $100k? no one else on the board got there by donating $'s? I'm surprised there isn't an insurgency by board members)
Cameron was interesting, but not so much as a girl with a crush on her teacher/boss. Not very happy with that development either.
I think that you can pop Vicodin (or practically any drug you take on a daily basis) like m&m's because your body gets used to the dosage and needs more to accomplish the same effect. Until, of course, it shuts your liver down, or gives you a heart attack, or some other consequence unless you're keeping it within range of its medicinal qualities.

...with Volger (who is a complete jerk - also, $100k? no one else on the board got there by donating $'s? I'm surprised there isn't an insurgency by board members)... Not a $100 K. Vogler donated $100 MILLION. And there's more where that came from! And since its a teaching hospital and the money is for research, I'm sure no one on the board wants to rock the boat. Only two more Vogler episodes to go. ;D

Oh, a hundred million. Well that makes more sense, but still, because House's dept isn't making money? That's disgusting. Going into the business of healing the sick for the dough. Aren't the televangelists bad enough without the hospitals jumping on board. Volger ought to buy a pharmaceutical plant instead of a hospital.
Two left? We've already suffered through 3 of him?

Here's information on tomorrow's episode -- it would seem that Vogler already owns a pharmaceutical company! tv.yahoo.com/picks/20050412/Only two more to go!

Damn, that was a good episode! And the moment when his buddy said, “How do you know I’m not hitting on her?” – House’s reaction, and his buddy’s reaction to that... Oh, man, that was completely priceless! I’m an avid anti-shipper, and I was still laughing out loud!
I really like the way the racial issues were handled – direct and unflinching, with no trace of self pity or patronizing.
The psychological elements were handled well, too.
My only question is, does anyone know whether the woman on House’s team is leaving the series? Because I really am an anti-shipper, and I can’t figure how they would handle things now if she stays.

Observer, I didn't know you were a fan of this fabulous show? The House and Wilson scenes are usually quite remarkable. I had a similar reaction to the scene as you. ;D From all that I've read, Jennifer Morrison (Cameron) isn't leaving. Dr. House is going to have other things on his mind once Sela Ward comes on the scene...she's playing the former(?) love of House's life. SW is supposed to be in the last two episodes of this season and also some more episodes later on. JM and HL certainly did a wonderful job with the final scene.

I hear that Cameron comes back too. I'm with you on the anti shipper bit, but that part you mentioned with Wilson and House and the crush cracked me up too. With any luck they'll handle it reasonably well. They got rid of Volger in a fairly reasonable way. I was a little bummed it didn't involve death, but close enough.

Anyone catch last night's episode Three Stories? That has got to be one of the best hours on TV I've seen in quite a while! That and CI on Sunday with Crossing Jordan's great season finale, almost makes up for losing the 60 minutes spent on last week's WAT. ;D It's mentioned in this article from Business Week why FOX shows House instead of NBC: www.businessweek.com/bwdaily/dnflash/may2005/nf20050518_9206_db011.htm
