So we're going back to the first CI episode "One" and discuss it both as an individual episode, plus general discussion as needed. Are we going to start this coming Sunday June 12, sometime after the scheduled NBC rerun of "Silver Lining" but discuss the earlier episode instead?

I've got original VHS tapes of Household Saints and Naked Tango; if no one here wants them I'm going to start them on Ebay for 15.00 this weekend - that is about the average price so it seems fair. Let me know by pm if you want any of these.

Yes! A virtual one so ask for as much as you want! Thanks for all the input regarding my getting a dog and all the concern lavished by everyone on the dog that doesn't yet exist. I've intentionally refrained from getting one before this because I do realise that my working this hard does have an effect on those around me; both the four and the two-legged variety. But my life is about achieving a balance - equal parts work and play. Or, dare I hope, more play and NO work. But, no, I'd be bored. If the right pet comes along I'm sure we'll both be able to adapt. I've never abandoned a pet or a person I'm proud to say. Most dog-owners with the exception of ranchers, farmer and dog-trainers don't and can't spend all their time with their pets how ever much they'd like to but both the dog and the person have fulfilling relationships.

sure - and mine have adapted from a nearly free roaming - outside all day environment to one where they are caged while I am at work and go out on leashes - they prefer the roaming; but happy play and knock things over in my living room - I figure if they still play each day, they are not too bad off! I just make sure that once in a while we go off to a secluded area & I let them off leash to run and run and run.

Sirenna, If you would like to get a dog, and feel that you don’t have that much time to give. A puppy does take up a lot of time, with training them and just burning off their youthful energy. Might I make a suggestion? Go to your local pound, and see if their is an old soul that needs a home. Dogs over 5 years are most likely trained, and laid back. and just looking to hang with someone. We got our dog from the pound, when she was 8-1/2 years old. I think they were done breeding her. She is 10 years old now. She enjoys her walks, sharing meals with us. She just wants be a part of the family.

Thanks Cassie/Trisha/Nikki! I've been in training which has made this a loong week, but the birthday was good. Voice lesson happened to be that day, dinner with the family at a fun seafood restaurant, giant pan cookie for dessert. Tomorrow night I'm having friends over to just chill and watch movies. Guess I better go get the downstairs cleaned up for company...
Later all, Catbird

Can anyone recommend what is a good MP3 player? I've never even held one, but I was leaning towards Apple's IPod. One of my nephews is turning 16 tomorrow and I would like to get one for him.

I've got an IPod mini (holds fewer songs & is slimer) and it totally rocks. It is easy as pie to adjust the song list (but then I have an apple laptop that I use)
ITUNES on the web lets you download songs for 99cents; or complete albums - so you can get pretty much any tune you like.

Happy Birthday. I can tell you're a sea food lover, Catbird. Me too. Never met a crustacean I didn't like!
Nicky: IPODS and teenagers are both tricky animals. It has to be just the right Ipod otherwise his social life will suffer. (I kid you not) Six months is too old. You might consider letting him pick it out.
You are obviously his favourite aunt.
I'm vying to be my niece's favourite aunt. Today I bought her a "Hungry monsters under the bed" book that was on sale at Coles. She's two so I can still be cheap for a while.

Cassie, GorenEames:
Adopting an dog, especially an older one is a great idea. I'm a dog-walker at the HS sometimes. I'd recommend it. It's good excercise for you and the dog and very relaxing.
