Kahlia, if you need any help, there are some great tutorials out there. Just google. I find that MS Movie Maker works well with home movies, but I've never tried to record anything from tv with my camera, so I can't help you there. If you need a free web host to host the file, Ripway.com allows up to 40mgs of space for free, and they do allow video. Hope that helps And thank you! I can't wait to see them

I am apologising very very very much. I wont have the Clips up for another two days. I sat on the floor today for ONE HOUR trying to figure out how to get the picture from the TV to the camera. Zilch. I figures out how to get already recorded stuff onto the tv but not from the TV to the camera. I have given up until tomorrow. I will read the manual for the 100th time to see where i have gone wrong. I was so excited and thought that it would be a breeze, boy was i wrong. If i figure out how to get them on the camera tomorrow i will post 'em up then. But for now i will give me two days. Im sorry if all you guys where very excited little children and couldn't sleep ( ), but my dad didn't have 'time' to help me but my mum sat down and tried but she doesn't know much about technology, but she tried but we didn't get anywhere. Anywho, back to the point: Sorry about the delay, and (hopefully) i will have the clips up in two days. -Kahlia

I figured out how to get the ads onto the camcorder. Which is great! Now all i have to do is figured out how to get them onto the computer. I have the manual and all, and it tells me how to do it. It seems really easy, but the computer won't see that it is connected to the computer!!! It says "connect the video to the computer with the USB cable". UGH! It is all connected! I will wait for my father to come home. These are the ads i have on the camcorder: -"Criminal Criminal Criminal Intent" One - Unrequited - Pravda - A murder Among Us - Sound Bodies and - Happy Family. I can't believe it, i have lost Undaunted Mettle, Gemini, (I never had The Gift), and Stray. I can't find them on my tapes anywhere. *shrugs* Anyway, let me know if you have a fav episode that you want to see the ad to, and let me know. -Kahlia

Kahlia;
Very kind of you to do this. Where will they be located?
Patcat (who's sorry if she's missed this info already--I know just enough to be dangerous on a computer)

Please let us know where you are going to place them when they are ready for posting.
Just a thought before dad arrives because I don't know how cables are labeled in your part of the world, but do you have separate color coded input and output audio and video connectors on your cables? We have color coded audio and video cables here, which should match when you connect one peripheral to another.
If instruction manuals there are like the ones we have to deal with here, the directions might not be complete or clear enough as to what end goes into what input or output jack.

Techguy, Yes, our cables are all colour co-ordinated. Except our computers don't have the input, ouput, and audio cables. For the Camcorder to connect to the computer you have to have a USB port (which we have) and the cable that connects the camcorder to the computer (we have that too). I got the movies to play on the computer (it ended up being that i had to put the cable into the back of the computer, to the spare USB port, no the front of the computer).. The problem is that the computer won't let me upload the movies to the compuer so i can save them and allow them for downloading. I will put the movies onto my Dad's site. As they are uploaded i will give you guys a link, so it makes it easier for you. I will also let you guys know which ones are available for download. So they is nothing you guys have to do, except wait then download when they are available. I will keep you guys updated. -Kahlia

Okay.... more info.. I tried another couple of times since i last posted but still no luck.. they wont save properly onto a CD, and i CAN get them into a program on the computer but it doesn't have sound. So now i have to find out what my other alternatives are. I have no idea since: - the computer wont save them to the hard drive. - it wont save properly onro CD - the programs i have on the computer either 1. Wont work. or 2. Work but the ads have no sound.
Im checking up with my dad to see if he has any more ideas.
I took a couple of days off from working on it cause my Aunty died last friday and me and my family had to plan for the funeral...
I hope to get these working for you... i was really excied about them but now im doubting it altogether.

Kahlia, I'm sorry to hear about your aunt's death. Of course personal family matters like this take precedence over mundane problems like computer glitches. My condolences to you and your family. Hang in there.

Oh, Kahlia, I'm so sorry to hear about your aunt. If it weren't for the whole different continent thing I'd be over there with a casserole right now. I'll be thinking about you, don't worry about the clips. Be with your family. If you'd rather not talk about it I understand, but was your aunt sick or in an accident or what? Of course, if I'm being too nosy please ignore.
Take care, Catbird

My Aunty was really sick with cancer. I think that it ws bone cancer or liver cancer, because they doctors said that it was in her bones but she had gone a yellow-y colour (and im sure that has to do with the liver). No Criminal Intent on last night.. They had a premire of "Jessica" (by Bryce Courtenay)... -Kahlia

I'm so sorry about your aunt, Kahlia. When my father in law died of liver cancer, his death was still very hard on all of us, but it was also sort of a relief because he wasn't suffering anymore. So, I know what you are going through. Take some time off to be with your family, and don't bug Dad on our behalf.

I'm sorry to hear about your aunt, Kahlia.
Don't worry yourself too much about getting the ads on, it would be great, but honestly, you can only do what you can do. Great learning experience so far though, isn't it?
No L&O CI last night for you guys? The horror! Poor things.
