I get totally excited about shelve catalogues at the moment. ;D I'm planning to rip up the carpet and put in hardwood floors. I refuse to pay someone with plummer's butt to do it so no labour just me. eek.

MelTex, congrats on the new home! And Sirenna, good luck with the hardwood! We did that back home about four years ago when the toilet didn't shut off and then entire downstairs flooded--we had fans and dehumidifiers running for full volume for 4 straight days! Hardwood is nice--especially when it's first set down and your cats go skidding into the walls! (I love my kitties, but that was a funny sight!)
I've never been big into decorating stuff. I have a feeling there aren't too many other college students on the board, but would anyone else care to sing the praises of posters and double-sided tape? Who am I kidding, most of my decor comes form old calendars I tore the pages out of; those and postcards are wonderfully cheap ways to liven the dorm room. Fortunately my roommate and I have similar taste.

HAHA! Don't feel bad Catbird. I'm only a few years out of a college dorm. I lived in one for 3 yrs in college, and I could sing an ode to Sticky-tac, double sided tape, and those posters you can buy at the Student Center store. I found new and inventive ways to make shelving space and hang things with no nails. But thanks for the good wishes about the house. I just picked the keys up today, and looked around in it. There is no freaking cable in the back two spare bedrooms!! WTF?! *smirk* Oh well, we have to have cable put back there for the computer room for cable internet. Sirenna - LOVE the plumbers-butt comment! *laugh* Good God, I think we've all seen that, and had Nightmare on Crack-street burned into our memories. *shudder* But good luck with the hardwood floors. Watching my kittens go skating across them at my mom's house was pretty entertaining.

har har har nothing uglier than a strange man's hairy butt. My bathroom is a light sage color - w/white tiles & then I decorated with ivy vines for the shower curtain. But to tone down ADD Yellow? Maybe DARK wood accessories and chocolate brown towels and such. You could do a chocolate lace shower curtain. I think I would just paint - unless you are stuck with tiles that are bright yellow.

MelTex--are you in Rita's path? Best wishes and I certainly hope things work out OK. (I was lucky, I'm far enough inland that we didn't get touched by Ophelia, and even the coast is relatively alright.) Let us know how you are if the storm heads your way.

Yes, MelTex, when youg et a chance drop a note to say how you are.
Is it just me, or is there a lot less build-up to the season premier this time? Last year we had the whole "You Know You Miss CI When" thing, but people don't seem so excited. Maybe cause we know that Blondie will be in it?
Whatever. Just a couple more hours and then we'll have stuff to discuss. And I again emphasize my claim to the poll. Yes I'm piggy and selfish, after this lapse I'll try to behave.

Just wanted to exult that I have a computer again! Turns out I had a bad power supply, thankfully under warranty still. But event he hour with Dell tech support was bearable (the guy was really sweet dealing with an ignoramus like myself. "Good job, good response" and other polite encouragements as I fumble through). Fortunately Daddy made sure I had the service where someone comes to your place to fix the thing, knowing that he can't trust me to do much beyond a virus scan and also that mobility etc. may be awkward for a college student.
It's turning cool here--under 70 is fall weather for almost October--so I ahve been enjoying the hot tea. Need a nice black-and-white movie to vegetate with on a Friday night, after I find some sort of non-Caf food.
Later all, Catbird
