Happy Groundhog's Day to everyone! Metella - sorry to respond late. I've been a little bogged down with classes. Metella wrote: "Say, I had the oddest dream we were in a group, camping or field trip; whatever. You were talking about having 2 girlfriends, I was teasing you about making a decision about keeping just one ..... then all I remember is everyone else in the group was so boring but us; I wanted to scream. Freaking dreams. Must have been the PA football connection done in dreamscape. " That's some dream! 2 GIRLFRIENDS!!!!! Yowza. I don't even have one at the moment. Hope they were cute......... GO EAGLES!!!!D.

Its Groundhog day? Man shows ya how much I pay attention.
I think I'm going into CI withdrawls early. I know we have the Super Bowl (Go Eagles), but common! I want more Goren...dag nabbit!!
Anyone see the behind the scenes pic of CI with Logan and Goren and Eames on the CI set in TV Guide? Its a good pic--Noth's saying something funny to the camara techs and Vincent is flipping through his omnipresent brown notebook. *giggle*
2 girlfriends Dom?? Must Pimpin' in the Dream-house! *grin* ;D

Happy Groundhog's Day, indeed. According to Punxutawney Phil of Philadelphia, who saw his shadow, there's going to be a long winter. However, Ontario's Wiarton Willy didn't see his shadow and there's going to an early spring. It's all real crazy...yesterday, we didn't even need a coat during the day and today's "brrr". So, are the Eagles the team to root for this year?! My nephew seems to think so.

Well, the Staten Island groundhog, who apparently has had a much more accurate record in recent years, predicted spring would arrive early. See the website www.gothamist.com for details. (Really great site for New York info, and they love the L&O series.) Patcat

Well, they've been calling for snow for the past ocuple days and so far nada. Well, we got some ice and mess on Saturday morning, enough to cancel the party I went home for, but thankfully the interstate was clear for me to get back to school Sunday. And they keep saying "It'll snow today" or "It'll snow tomorrow," but apparently people are looking at different weather reports.
I don't really care one way or the other about the Superbowl this year, I ain't got a dog in that fight. Of course the dorm is having a huge projection and junk food to watch, I'll show up with a camera and hopefully the commercials will be better this year.
Soon as I heat up the Ramen I better start studying for an archaeology exam--it's not til Friday, but tomorrow will be nuts. And as an unintended shoutout to the board, the author of the text is very fond of comparing archaeologists to Sherlock Holmes. Once I have time I'll try to find some of the sillier examples. Later all,
Catbird

You guys have some neato names for your groundhogs! Well, where I'm at in southeast TX, we don't have groundhogs. If they burrow down too far in our gumbo-clay soil,...they'd just hit water and drown. Sad huh? Plus, the way our weather keeps changing-- like an ADHD teenie-bopper changes clothes to go out on her first date--I think a groundhog would spontainiously combust from trying to predcit our weather. (ex. It was 75 last week, now it hasn't gotten out of the 40s...go figure) *poor little rodent*

Okay, I guess I'll have to go to the forum courthouse because apparently I am being ganged up on here. I mean I wrote in tiny little letters, Go Patriots. And now I am getting in headline fonts, in the teams colors no less, an avalanche of Eagles devotees. I really just hope it is a good game and whichever team wins would be fine with me. I did not realize I had sidestepped into such a malestrom of Eagles fans. Actually, I just hope the commercials are entertaining. Does anyone know if Janet Jackson is doing the halftime show??

Coth - how astute of you to notice we had put the Eagles colors on our "shout out" Really I should be rallying for the Pats as they are the team closer to me physically ..... but you know how that goes.

I'm gonna be in sports overload. I've gotta sing in "The Mighty Casey"...yes, somebody did an operatic adaptation of "Casey at the Bat", and they needed the Glee Clubs to act as the spectators. It'll be fun, but now we're into all the staging and the schedule's gonna be nutty. Besides, basketball is in full swing now, and being the product of a mixed marriage (NC State+ Carolina) I'm used to watching the ACC and yelling at the screen. Actually, those teams play tonight, woohoo! Even if football doesn't interest me, this is gonna be as close as I get to a Jock-ette.

There should be some kind of Ground Hogs Union, so they all get their stories straight. We give Punxatawney alot of airtime here, but we also have Buckeye Chuck. They both agreed, six more weeks of the ugly stuff. UGH!
Sir Paul McCarthy is doing half time at the Super Bowl. Can't wait to see this year's batch of commercials. Just glad I don't have to pay for them.
Go Eagles.

I'm getting revved up for Super Bowl Sunday, not so much because my team is in the mix (it isn't) but because it's become sort of a tradition bordering on a new American holiday.
I read somewhere a few weeks ago that the Super Bowl organizers wanted a more "family friendly" halftime show this year (read: no "wardrobe malfunctions") and so Janet Jackson is out, Paul McCartney is in. I also read McCartney is using the halftime show to promote his upcoming US tour, so that sort of explains how and why he agreed to do the gig.
MelTex: here's a quick and easy idea for a super Super Bowl snack--spicy chicken wings. I'm no Emeril in the kitchen so I tend to go for anything that's easy to prepare, is sure to please, and involves little or no cleanup (except for the bones). I don't know if you have this in your area, but the best seasoning I have found is Williams Spicy Wings Seasoning. It comes in an envelope and should be in the spices section of your grocery store. I don't use egg or milk on the wings, just rinse them in water to coat with the mix. I prefer the oven method, and use Pam spray on the cookie sheet and over the wings to make them extra crispy. I serve them with Ranch and/or Blue Cheese salad dressing, with carrot sticks and celery pieces on the side. Try it, you might like it.

Oh yea, the Commercials!! I forgot, they are sometimes my favorite part! Especially if one team is getting spanked by the other so bad, the commercials are the only reason I keep the channel on the game. Cool, Elton John is always a good show to watch! Man, if you think being in a split-team family is bad...I'm in a real split when it comes to college football. I like Texas (UT) and Oklahoma St. So, when they play each other...LOL...you can imagine the delema, espcially since my fiance is a UT fan. Not in bad shape for Superbowl this year, we are both going for the Eagles.
