I have some good news to start off the April squad: Our cyber-buddy Miss Popularlibrary has bid farewell to the Library and has officially retired as of today. Now that she is free as a bird, I hope that she will be able to re-join us for some good discussions of CI, literature and films. I spoke to her today by phone and needless to say, she is very happy to be free. She sends regards to all. Congrats! D.

Dom,
I’m so happy to hear this! Please tell her congratulations for me!! I look forward to seeing her posts again. She’s so good at catching literary references and parallels that fly right over my head, I always learn something from her posts.

Wow, great news! Congrats, Elena April already! That means sweeps is just around the corner We had really beautiful weather last week, but now those April showers are starting and since the warm weather woke the buggies, they've been finding their way into my house. I took a shower with a very big and hairy spider this morning. I don't like squishing them, and it was too high up to spray off the wall without soaking the whole bathroom. Perhaps he knew that Mr. T has been working alot of overtime and didn't want me to be lonely, and it did help a little, because we had a long talk about how hard it is to wash ones face or shave while making sure a giant bug isn't going to come gliding down on your head ... seriously, it was HUGE!

Trisha - HA HA HA HA I have taken my share of showers craning my neck & eyes to make sure I was not attacked by a giant SPIDER ! YUCK and double YUCK
NIKKI - love the new butterfly! it rocks, in connection with two certain moppets I visited once, I found that butterflies are my goodluck animal NOT the redwing blackbird that I have loved & followed in the past.

Best wishes to anyone who gets to retire. If someone told me I didn't have to work anymore, I'd be gone before they could blink. Trisha, how about sending some of that nice weather my way. On Saturday, one county received 20 new inches of snow, and closed the schools today. We broke an all time record-105.5inches of snow for this winter. By the way, spiders are our friends.

Ha! It's usually you guys that get the better weather! Today we almost made it to 70, and we hear it should be in the mid 70's tomorrow I wish I could send some your way, but you'll just have to come north, my friend. You bring your sunglasses and I'll make the lemonaid ;D

Allow me one moment of exultation...
GO HEELS!!!
I don't attend UNC, darn the luck. And NOBODY in my dorm was watching the thing, people are shocked that I even know there's a game tonight. Shudder. I had to go across the street to watch with a friend and her friends, who really weren't that interested in the game, just for company. At least a few people came out to yell and scream on the walkway afterwards, although I heard sirens a few minutes ago so I don't want to know what happened. (I got so tickled, of course a couple cops came out when people were jumping and cheering, just in case, but they didn't even do anything. One of them just bounced a tennis ball against the concrete as they stood there, they seemed pretty good humored about the whole thing.) Anyways, we won, WOO-HOO!!!!#nosmileys#nosmileys

JCat; glad you are posting - you had left us for a while! I was thinking you had some mid-terms or something that kept you from us.

I'm glad that Sean May seems to have turned out so well. I lived in Bloomington, Indiana for a long time, and the consensus was that his father Scott (a great basketball player for Indiana University in the 1970s) was a class guy. And Sean showed a lot of guts in choosing NC over IU for school (it took a lot of courage for an 18 year old to go against most of a state).
I apologize for the basketball interruption.

Yes, Sean May does seem to be a neat guy, as do a good number of people on the team. It was just this season that I got back into the games--I grew up witht hem, but you get busy at school and don't think to turn it on. I know my Mom always liked Jawad Williams, bless his heart he was a freshman during that cringe-inducing 8-20 season, so now his senior year...all that we saw showed him to be the quiet, no-nonsense, taking care of business guy who was just as important to the team as the others who got more stats and press coverage. I was so happy last night...
Yeah, Metella, I know it's been a while. School, stress, and a billion other things. Plus, I haven't even seen new episodes until "The Good Child" so I couldn't even jump in there. I'll probably be kinda spotty until May, since i do have so many papers/projects/tests. But I really do try to peep in and at least read posts, even if I don't have a chance to respond.
Later all, take care. Catbird

Thank you for the congrats, although I'm not sure I should be happy about making it or appalled that I've inflicted my opinions on everyone so often.
