AC = Anne Coulter And I agree with all that think she deserves a beating. She and her pal Michelle Malkin should be dropped off on the nearest ice flow. Oh duh, right! I was so thinking about the show, LOCI, that I forgot who we were talking about. Did anyone see the repeat of Saturday Night Live last night on E! at 11:30? They had "Chris Matthews" interviewing "Ann" and he said something like "I'd call you a media whore, but that would be an insult to actual whores".

What I hear Anne Coulter saying. when she says: “The Jersey Four.” What these four left-wing widows do, is hit the media circuits, spew left-wing garbage, and expect to go unanswered. How could you go up against them? You’d be bashing the widows! " is, she feels like she is NOT allowed to question these woman on what they are saying because they lost their husbands on 911. Anne Coulter has a very valid point there. However, calling these woman " Media Whores" is out of line. We still have "Freedom of Speech" here in America. but I am finding the older I get, the more I have to be "politically correct" and that is subject to change where ever I go and you know, sometimes .....you just can't be "politically correct" The other week I was watching a show on the debate over the "DaVince Code". One of the Professor was saying that we are living in an age where there is a new word.....called "Truthiness" and what he was saying is, We are ALL going off in different directions in our beliefs.....and we are ALL coming up with our "own truths" whatever makes us feel good or right about ourselves. And that we are ALL starting to stray from the real truth, and we are ALL afraid to speak up because we might offend someone. I am not talking about religion here, just that I feel we are ALL losing our objectivity to what the "truth" on somethings might be. I think both the Conseratives and the Liberals, sometimes can go off the deep end and they both have done damage to our country! Who said she couldn't question them? If she tried in a civil manner I'm sure she could.

Yeah true, but I bet there is more to the story that went on behind the scenes. And we will never know the whole truth about.
and I wouldn't be surprised if she just said it....just to cause a controversy so people would buy her book.. Just a theory
But I still think she has a very valid point about when she talks about being afraid to ask a person question, about their stance on things, and she can’t because she might be offending them because they are widows or whatever.
Once again I am not saying it was OK for Anne Coulter to call anyone names

I'm sure these women would LOVE to sit down and have a worthwhile conversation with Anne Coulter - or should I say "CO" (for the Clueless One, Techguy! ). IMHO, CO doesn't want a worthwhile, constructive debate from anyone. She just likes to bad mouth and malign people who don't kneel at the altar of conservative politics like she does. And, did anyone catch her on the Tonight Show?? When the NOT Letterman host brought up the subject, she attempted to deflect his questions by bringing up her model like looks. Oh, please!! caseyswife

I agree Caseyswife. AC does not want a worthwhile debate with anyone. She only wants to spew her crap as loud and far as she can. She doesn't listen to or respond to any opposition in any logical way. That, imo, is the worst thing about today's Republican party and their talking heads: they refuse to debate. They hide behind party tag lines, they insult and smear their opponents, and they evade and confuse the issue at hand to avoid admitting even a possibility of error. They also completely ignore proof of their lies and mistakes, and, like Tom Delay, suggest that proof of their misdeeds has been fabricated as part of a vicious smear campaign perpetrated by Democrats.

Even the smartest, sneakiest, most ruthless Democrat couldn't make up the ignorant stuff that the Repubs have done over the past several years. They deserve all the credit for their thuggish, un-American behaviour.

Sorry, I am not trying to be difficult here. But I do not see any serious debating going on about any serious issues . All I am seeing is name calling, finger pointing, and jokes from both the democrats and the republicans.
However, I do agree wholeheartily that Anne Coulter threw the first punch, this time.

I disagree, but in her case she deserves. it I agree on your previous point, Cassie. A good book to read about the sometimes too preachy left would be "The New Thought Police" by Tammy Bruce (feminist turncoat, but still a good book).

The thing that really gets me is that AC and those of her ilk insist that you can't be against the war and still support the troops. I have two cousins over there - one National Guard, the other 'regular' Army - and they seem to understand it.
I don't deny that after 9/11 I wanted us to bomb the s##t outta someone, but we aren't even at war with the people who perpetrated that atrocity. To be honest, I think Bush and his cronies have disgraced the names of the victims of 9/11 by repeatedly using them and their names as justification for this boondoggle in Iraq. He should be ashamed - they all should be ashamed.
Did anyone catch what Bushs' Boys pulled off the other day?? Slam the opposition for wanting to pass a bill on manditory troop withdrawal - then two days after defeating the bill and calling everyone a traitor, they have a General from the Pentagon come out and announce a timetable for troop withdrawal. Gee, I wonder if they planned that...
God, I can't wait to vote...

As someone who's been there, done that, I can say without hesitation that there is a BIG difference between supporting Bush and supporting the troops. And anyone who drapes him or herself in the flag trying to equate the two as some sort of litmus test of one's patriotism and love of country is misguided at best and at worst, does dishonor to those who serve and most especially to those who have paid the ultimate price with their lives.
Freedom does NOT mean blind allegiance and or carte blanche obedience; if the upcoming July 4 INDEPENDENCE DAY means anything, it stands for the right of the people to object, to protest if our government representatives are acting counter to the will of the people and the principles on which this country was founded. Our Founders must be spinning in their graves at the actions taken by this present administration all in the name of "war on terrorism."
Speaking of the US flag, almost gone unnoticed is the Senate by ONE VOTE failed to approve submitting a Constitutional amendment to the states for approval that would have banned flag burning. My everlasting thanks to the wisdom and yes...PATRIOTISM...of those Senators, most especially the lone wolf responsible for the casting the deciding vote against, for rejecting this abominable bill.

Thanks Maher, I will check it out at your recommendation As for Bush .....I just wonder if we had gone into Iraq, kicked ass and where home already, would we all be singing a different tune?

I ditched church this past Sunday because they always do the patriotic service around the 4th. Last year I refused to stand and sing "America the Beautiful" or anything like that (although I did bend down in my seat and put on a "sick" face so as not to offend people). I remember Mom catching Cain during her stint as Worship Chair because she just never got around to putting the American flag back in the sanctuary. Suffice to say I don't think God has political boundaries and such things don't belong in a worship service.
But then, as my mother reminds me, we should be grateful that we live in a country that doesn't force one to engage in such activities or refuse to allow those who wish to participate.
Amen, Techguy. We all want our soldiers to come home safe, and we understand that they can't help being over there or doing what they have to. We shouldn't acquiesce to the political jerks and give them everything they want without question; sometimes supporting someone means requiring them to take responsibility. Think of parents and children.
