Hi. Can anyone tell me if this episode is to be continued? And the show this sunday concerning some artist the paintings seem Thomas Kinkadish, has Thomas Kinkade killed someone? What is the real story that was adapted for this episode?
Goldberg is really good. CREEPY.
I used to watch Law and Order but do not recall a whole lot concerning Logan, he's my favorite. Only watch CI because he is on. What is it with Logan and his mummy? And wasn't he molested by a preacher?
Thanks

Wondering if I am a dummy or what... I have no idea what a "CEA rep" is.. Can anyone help me out? this was nearly the last line in the episode when Deakins was responding to a message that IAD was going to investigate Tarkin..

I think this was the best L&B ep of the season, & the ending left it wide open. Well writted, well acted...... very good.

I really enjoyed this episode. What was the meaning of the end though? Bring a CEA rep to discuss Martinez?

There's some discussion in the General LOCI section on Logan's background. Short answers: his mother was an alcoholic who beat him up. And was he actually molested by a priest? Or was it friends of his?
I'm guessing the CEA is some part of the police officers union that provides some protection when an officer is being investigated.

I thought this was a wonderful episode - extremely compelling and beautifully acted. BRAVO. Whoopi Goldberg was fantastic. I tend to agree with mimi1802 - that the very strong psychologically apects of this episode make it much more of a CI episode than that of the Mothership. I also think that perhaps you are jumping the gun abit filmnoir - they say that we will see some changes in CI next season BUT I don't think the loss of Goren and Eames will be among these changes. I hope I am jumping the gun. I hope I am wrong because as much as I enjoy Logan and Barek, I would hate to see Goren and Eames no longer a part of L&O:CI. I was satisfied with one team one week and one team the next. However, this 3 episode story arch does not seem to have much of Goren and Eames. I am more disappointed with Wolf pushing for the show to air after the football season instead of at least trying the show on a new night. For some reason I think it will be a shorter season and may give NBC the idea to have only one team for fewer episodes. Trial By Jury, Conviction, and even the third season of Crossing Jordan only aired 13 episodes. Most midseason shows only air 13 episodes. "24" is an exception. If I have to wait until January 2007 to see another episode, I want to see season finale like either Wee Hours or at least see Goren and Eames being around for Deakins' departure from the Major Case (CI) So Whoopi may have a year long hiatus between her L&O:CI gigs.

And why didn't the foster son cop identify himself as a police officer when Logan drew his gun and announced he was police? I saw that scene as "sucide by cop" the foster kid cop, knew what he was doing. . The foster son cop was set up by Chesley Watkins, but he fought off the foster brothers who were sent to kill "the runt." I have a difficult time rationalizing the cop's behavior; when everyone scattered when the police closed in, wouldn't the cop foster brother want to be sure his "runt" brother wasn't done in by the others? If the foster son cop were dead, he's out of the picture insofar as protecting his "little brother" anymore.I have no idea what a "CEA rep" is.. Can anyone help me out? this was nearly the last line in the episode when Deakins was responding to a message that IAD was going to investigate Tarkin.. I think CEA = Captain's Endowment Association? It's sort of the equivalent of the Patrolmen's Benovolent Association for higher up cops and officers. The suggestion is Capt. Deakins is being investigated for some wrongdoing related to Logan's shooting the foster son cop and being cleared, and Deakins needs a police advocacy group to help defend him (Deakins).

I could be wrong filmnoir - but weren't both Trial By Jury and Conviction both mid season replacements - If so mid season shows always only air 11 to 13 shows don't they!! Also I believe that Crossing Jordan only had 13 episodes in the third season to accomodate Jill Hennesy - because of her pregnancy and subsequent maternity leave!!
I see us as getting a full season next year - Hoping I'm right : )

The foster son cop was set up by Chesley Watkins, but he fought off the foster brothers who were sent to kill "the runt." Both Logan and Barek came to the conclusion that both foster brothers, the "runt" and the "cop" where set up to be killed by their other foster brothers. If they could figure that out. I am pretty sure the "foster kid cop" could too. I can't help but wonder, especially since the Foster Care Agency took some of her boys away because she (Chelsey) refused to take the latest Psych test. What the Agency might be suspicious of what was going on in her home. Also, remember the episode "Graansha" where the murdered social worker was trying her best to save her niece from a life of petty crime with the traveling thieving tinkers of a family that they both were born into. I believe that the “foster kid cop” knew more about what his foster family was really about, how could he not? Barak told Chelsely, "your son pointed his gun at us". And everyone knows, especially a cop. If you point a gun at a cop. He is going to shoot you. And what about Floyd, he dove out that window, because he already knew he was dead. Antonio didn’t last a day at Rikers. The Fosters kids knew if you didn’t toe Mama Chelsey’s line your going to pay a high price for it. I wonder how many of her foster sons in the past had accidents. I liked the way Logan decided against taking his date home. It showed that he was a man of character and class. He was lonely and hurting and he wanted to be loved, but he knew the young girl at the bar might have regretted her decision in the morning. "Silver Lining"…..Dr Olivet I am sure was proud of him Oh my only real complaint about the episode is when the two detectives went to Logan at the snack machine and gave words of comfort saying it could have happened to anyone. I feel this could have been a great opportunity to have the Dynamic Duo walk over and give support other then two strange detectives that we have never met before. Oh oh oh. I thought too, it was brilliant detective work on Logan and Barek's part to realize the next hit was going to be at the Indian Family with the jade statue of their God. They were quick on their toes. but unfortunately too late.

I agree it would have been great for Goren and Eames to appear at the snack machine to say encouraging words to Logan. If both teams alternate again next season, I would like to see a "Munch or Finn" type of cameo. Better yet bring Munch on CI.

On the other hand NYPD Blue did have 20 episodes when it started a season in Jan. 2001 according to epguides. Now if L&O:CI airs at least 20 episodes next season with both detective teams still alternating, I will be pleased with the show. I will miss Jamey Sheridan but I would miss Carver more.

Frankly, I'm growing tired of the "hot headed, exiled cop" angle. Bad boy, sex toy isn't what my CI is all about. Huh, five seasons and not once has gOren asked Eames to "stay the night." Logan was hitting on his partner? EEEWWW... bad move even for Big and shame on the writers for suggesting such.

I am pretty sure the "foster kid cop" could too. I agree with this point, that the foster son cop figured out that he and Antonio had been set up. What still puzzles me is why the cop would think he would be better off dead. Once he's gone, the helpless Antonio wouldn't stand a chance against further attacks by the other foster brothers or anyone else Mama Chesley would recruit to terminate him.
If all the foster sons would rather die than cross their Mama Chesley, then an investigation into her past history with her other foster sons would lay the foundation for her further confrontations with Logan.five seasons and not once has gOren asked Eames to "stay the night." Logan was hitting on his partner? EEEWWW I don't think Logan was really hitting on Barek. I think he was so psychologically damaged as a result of his accidental killing of the foster son cop, and hearing the other cops support him, he wanted someone to punish him for his mistake. He knew if he came on to Barek she would reject him and maybe even quit on him as a partner. Barek was upset by his move, but quietly told him "Go home Mike" and left. Logan then went to unload on Dr. Olivet who pretty much confirms his motive and need to pay for what he had done.

Hey guys,
Loved this episode, just like everyone else. Whoopi didn't disappoint, and I'm glad she'll be back (even though I think I'm in the minority when it comes to being in favor of recurring villains!)
I do have a few points I'd like to run by you guys--the first was regarding the mother of the first murdered family--why oh why didn't she try to stop her daughter from getting into the house? If it were me, I'd have done everything possible to send her away with the neighbor couple......I can't imagine the murderers knew she was on the way, and insisted that she be taken in...? What do you guys think?
Also, during the interrogation--it was somewhat of a let down to see Logan being taken in SO completely....I mean, wasn't it blatantly obvious that this woman would never confess to the crimes? Maybe not....again, what do you guys think?
The last question I have is regarding the so-called "vengeful cop" who is gunning for Deakins--is he the guy who was arrested in "My Good Name"? Has anyone heard anything about this plot?
Anyways--great episode though. Loved it. Just loved it..... and wasn't it eerie and creepy when Chesley whispers "then...... nothing.... .. lawyer..."? I had goosebumps all over, and it sent shivers down my spine!

Don't get me wrong, I am not rejoicing over the downfall of Goren. I used to love that character! But he just hasn't been the same and the whole show has suffered the last 2 seasons. I'm not the only one who thinks so, see the ratrings! I B***hed and moaned louder than anyone about Logan coming on CI, but the voo doo episode and this one have proven me dead wrong. He is terrific on this show, even if his partner still sucks. (I'm hopeful she's on the to be replaced list.) I have been mourning Goren for a year and a half, but no more. I've all but given up on him and moved on to liking the show with Logan. D'Onofrio is still a good 40 pounds overweight, and still looks like general hell, so it appears he never did solve whatever his personal or health problems were. I'm sorry for that, but I wish him well. I have my great show back, and that is all I really care about!
Whomever the detectives are, I don't like waiting to January for new episodes. Don't like it at all. 13 could be 6 L/B and 6 G/E and one two parter like wee small hours. I am not crazy about that idea.
