nothing like our NUTS? OK - I get the point - I'll just edit my above post and we will leave it open to the members to populate a new thread under the Squad Room.

I think she meant things like IMO, ROTFLMAO, IIRC, YMMV, and such. Those can be confusing for people new to message boards. I see no issue with starting a thread to define them. Exactly, thank you.

Just an FYI ( ) we've had a rule about abbreviations in the FAQ from day one ... please keep in mind that abbreviations are helpful to the writer, not the reader. If you want people to read your posts, be considerate of their time and not just your own

Mods:
Would it be possible to create sub-threads for each of the episodes grouping them under seasons 1 through 6? I find myself floating in L&O hyperspace lately and I need some kind of anchor. I'm not only mixing up the episodes in my mind but I'm confusing mothership storylines with LO:ci storylines.

What a great idea Sirenna I'm always watching episodes (& seasons) out of sequence and I like to read the corresponding episode threads, so I would appreciate an "anchor" too

Sorry for the late response, we haven't been ignoring this idea. We don't want to use sub-boards for the discussion threads because we like to have the most recently updated threads together at the top, no matter which season they're from. To help everyone keep track of which season the episodes are from we've decided to rename the threads to reflect the season and episode numbers, ie, 6-11 "Worlds Fair."
Will that work for you?

Anything that saves me having to search through the NBC episode guide page...works for me Thanks.

I like the idea of CI episode season tags too. Most times I can place episodes in specific seasons, but sometimes I forget. My only additional suggestion would be to label the threads like this: S6-E11 rather than just 6-11 which could be confused with a date.

Yeah, I think so. So if I do a keyword search with "season six" because maybe I don't know the title or the season I might still have a shot at getting the episode list that narrows it all down a bit? Well, that works for me, I think. My problem is I never know the titles so keyword search doesn't work for me. I'm more visual. I remember interesting scenes like Bobby freaking out or Eames snarking at him. The titles are not on the credit list in the episodes when the episodes air and in reruns you can never be sure as to what season it is. I could do a lot more if I could narrow it down by season. I would be willing to post a list of each episode according to its season with a few key words describing the shows. Then you mods could list them as "6-11 "Worlds fair or whatever. Someone like me would then be able to do a random search, look at the list and see which year it might be and then scroll through the epis to find the one we want to post on. Sometimes I spend maybe fifty minutes looking for a particular thread and find it only to forget what I wanted to say?! What I'm saying is, if I don't know the titles, could there be some way for me to find the episodes I'm looking for by key scenes, key words or some other tag? thanks for looking into this.

If the answer is no, I think NikkiGreen will be able to point me in the right direction. She and Sobergal have so far. As a BCer, with the weird weather out there, she's always three hours behind so I don't like to have to wait.

Sirenna, you will want to bookmark this page. If you remember the name of a character or the actor, you can use that as your search parameter and put a wide margin for the number of days to search. The default setting is 7 days I believe. Good hunting.

Thanks, Nikki! I've bookmarked it. It'll be really useful.

All existing threads have been renamed using the format: Season:Episode Number - "Name of Episode" Original Airdate i.e 6:11 - "World's Fair" 2007-01-02
Please use this format for all new episode discussion threads.

Regarding the reformatted episode threads (i.e. season #s,dates): Wow, what an undertaking the mods took going back through all the old ones and updating them. Thank you! I'm sure we don't say it enough, but you guys rock, thanks for giving us your time and energy to make this a fun board!
