And while the cops probe a "suicide matchmaking" website, they discover that one of the victims tried vainly to escape Backtracking, the investigators seek to learn what brought the four together that night, and they wonder if office politics and an illicit romance were factors in the tragedy -- and subsequent coverup. Oooh, flashbacks to Sartre. The play "No Exit" is a very interesting one that I thoroughly enjoyed. Should I babble now or wait til the episode actually airs?

I mentioned on another forum that this episode seems to be partially inspired by a case in California where a man drove his car on a railroad track. His intention may have been to commit suicide, but he jumped out of the car just before the train hit it. The impact caused several rail cars to jump the track, and I believe several people were killed. The car's driver, who had a history of mental illness, has been charged with murder.
But it looks like LOCI will put its usual unusual spin on the story.

Well, the brief version is that "No Exit" was written in the 1940s, France was occupied by the Nazis and the world was falling apart. (Sartre, if I recall correctly, was involved in the French Resistance. I could be wrong, but either way he hated the Nazis.)
The plot: Three characters--two women and one man-- are put in a room together. We find out that they are dead, and this room is a part of Hell. No flames or torture instruments, but just these three and as they talk about what they're in for, they realize why they have been put together for all eternity. Ever hear the quote "Hell is other people"--here's where it came from. The rest I'll hold off on to see if it's even applicable.

Well, we ought to be skeptical of the NBC promos and blurbs by now, but it sounds like there's potential for Deakins to have a beefed up role. Fingers crossed!
