Has anyone seen this movie. I really have not read very good things about the movie and only am interested in seeing it because Chris Noth is has a role and I enjoy his work on L&O:CI this season and liked him on the original show.
Does he have much of a part in this movie? Is it worth a Blockbuster rental or is it a "wait for premium channel movie?

To paraphrase Jack Nicholson in "A Few Good Men": can you handle the truth? If so, here it is.
I reluctantly agreed to Mrs. Techguy's wishes and rented this because she was in the mood for a "romantic comedy." This movie is neither romantic nor a comedy, just a stupid idiotic mess with totaly unbelievable characters and plot. To give you some idea of what it was like, the highlight for me was seeing the character Lenny the baker's 1980 Pontiac Trans-Am two door hardtop in a scene. That's it, period.
Afterward, Mrs. Techguy agreed with my assessment, and will let me make the next selection for a movie rental. Fortunately, I only paid $1 on bargain night at the local movie rental store, otherwise I would have been even more po'd at this complete waste of time and money.
So if you can rent this on the cheap to satisfy some morbid curiosity about Chris Noth's role, don't say I didn't warn you. For my part, I'm waiting for the deluxe DVD edition to be released, if for no other reason than to get some commentary by Noth as to what possessed him to get involved in this ridiculous film project.

Now that DVD with Noth's commentary might make it to $300 on E-bay.
Thank you for letting me know. I think I will watch it on when it comes on cable on a cold or hot day when I have some bills to sort or newspapers to go through at the end of the week.
Thank you again. I hope he does a better film next time.

I saw the previews and thought "Ugh--I don't care if it is Logan, no!" And I'm the demographic they're marketing it towards! (I refused to go see "Freaky Friday" too, although my Dad wanted me to go with him so he'd have an excuse to drool over Jamie Lee Curtis.) Sounds like I made the right choice.
Poor Techguy. I remember my parents "owing" each other over bad movies and stuff, but usually it involved us kids. Dad got suckered into taking me and a couple friends to touring versions of "Phantom of the Opera" and "Les Miserables". During the ACC tournaments too. But then, Mom went with my brother to see the Pokemon movie, so she flat-out wins.

Techguy they need to release that as a special edition box set with Jakarta -- other than a spiffy chase scene, Jakarta's pretty sad too

I really really like Chris Noth - Pretty obvious from my username I'm sure LOL!!
But oh Cool Chris - Hilary Duff - what were you thinking : ) - Sorry Duff fans!!
But I actually quite liked Jakarta, and Texas Funeral was also a very good movie.
But I'll admit to moments of shallowness - I may just rent Perfect Man for the Noth scenes - there is always the FF button LOL!!

I would give this movie a "C" rating.
It gets an "A" rating for funny bloopers. In 2 scenes you can see the microphone hanging from the ceiling. The audience was laughing because it would float in and out of view.
How the editors missed a dangling microphone over Noths head is beyond me

Oh my its been so long since I've seen it!
Chris's part isn't that big - if that would be anyone's reason for seeng it - Strangely enough it wasn't mine LOL ( as much as I love him : ) - It was just a movie that someone had reccomended to me.
It also stars Robert Patrick, Martin Sheen, Joanne Whaley. It is kind of a portrait of a texas family circa 1960 or so - As they all gather for the patriarch's funeral.
I thought that it was quite a good movie - really enjoyed it.

I thought the Perfect Man was worth it for the Heather Locklear at the Styx concert scene. But if she really broke up with Richie Sambora via her publicist, she deserves that.

I am glad I did not take the time or money to rent this movie and waited for HBO. I set the DVR for it and watched it in about 20 minutes. Reviewers said Chris Noth was the best in the movie. They were correct but I would rather watch an old rerun of one of his L&O or CI episodes. If you just watch his scenes, it will take you less than 15 minutes. I hope movies will get better so he will have better movies to pick from when CI is no longer on the air.

Well, I caught this flick a few weeks ago on Movie Central.
1) I've already forgotten what happened in most of the movie. 2) The price I paid ($0) was waaay too much.
You're so right about the CN part, Filmnoir.

I think this film was summed up perfectly in the scene before the 'fire sprinkler' incident - Duff is droning on in Chris/Ben's apartment, and he's just staring at her with a flummoxed look on his gorgeous face. That's pretty much the whole film. Mind-numbing. I hired it out, but only because I wanted to see Chris. And, unfortunately, he does not partake in the commentary. However, there is a short bit in the special features that focuses on him. Even then, though, I'm not sure how worth it that would make the film. Hilary Duff is just too damned irritating, even for the sake of seeing Chris in Armani and Hugo Boss. Although, granted, I bought and suffered through 2 Julia Roberts flicks to see Vincent...
