Yes, that seems to be the RUMOR. I've seen nothing that indicates there's a nephew or that Goren goes undercover or anything along those lines. Goren going undercover is not just a rumor. It was stated as a fact in the "Adopted By A Rich Family" article: 'And Goren delves further into his idiosyncratic ways, especially mid-season when he goes undercover in a mental ward. When asked if he still enjoyed playing the oddball detective, D'Onofrio replied, "This year I am." "I just think we have to stay in the character-driven stuff," he added. "People like the crime stories, but we've got six years of back story behind us. It's so interesting to go a little deeper with it." ' The excerpt is why I think "Unthethered" is the test of mental health episode. The stuff about what happens to Frank and a possible niece/nephew is all speculation. It seems like a logical leap though. |

Sorry if I offended with my mention of the rumors...  That's why I simply said there were rumors "floating about" that "Untethered" would be the episode where Goren's mental health was questioned and didn't get into any of the specifics that I have seen elsewhere. (Supposedly there is a site that you can pay a subscription fee to that has the straight dope on the epi, but I am saving my cash for Maui.  ) I have to agree with you Techguy - I am so confused/half P.O.'d by the way things seem to stand now that any speculation about what the future holds is almost too much! VDO and Warren Leight owe me some restitution for all the antacids I have had to buy, I swear! (Well, VDO can pay me back some other way...  ) And now with the writer's strike seemingly upon us, there is no telling how things will end up this season. (As an aside - why didn't any of the networks prepare for this?? The strike was being talked about MONTHS ago - you'd think they would have made some contingency plans...  ) And even though you are only 'guessing and speculating', dearest Tech, I have to say a mighty BIG thanks for all the research into the possible air date for "Untethered!" Once again you have reminded me that there is really only ONE place to get the genuine CI lowdown from people who KNOW what they are talking about. ;D caseyswife |

Ditto what Patcat said. I'm not offended by the posting of rumors either, just astounded and maybe a tad annoyed that they are presented as FACT and accepted as such.

Yea, the problem is someone will post something along the lines of "What if?" and five posts later "What if" becomes "When."
It's why I like the fact this board's administrators gently remind people not to discuss too much about an episode until it airs. (Shout of thanks to Administrators.) Even if I'm one of the people who occasionally has to be reminded (g).

Well I hope I didn't upset anyone, by posting the rumors. Someone asked and I just posted what I heard. Like I said, I didn't put much weight into the rumor, I prefer to wait and see things for myself, things can be rewritten and changed. Just as I have noticed when they show us little previews, have you notice lines keep getting cut. Eames' this is my life. A scene with Logan talking about the lower East side without the bodies. Seems we get teasers and the teasers sometimes get cut. So until you see and episode you don't know what will happen. Look at Frank, He was Micheal, until it aired. But someone asked, So I didn't see anything wrong with responding, If I did something wrong I am sorry.

Ragin, I think there's a difference between posting rumors and posting rumors as fact. I don't see what's wrong with a little speculation myself, and I don't think you did anything wrong! I think the other people were just pointing out that sometimes people take rumors and make them into fact. What you said was extremely mild in compared to some of the weird stuff that goes on online and goes on (to my amazement) around the stars of the show and the show itself! Of course that is just IMHO. Let us all be happy and hope for Eames and Goren to be happier in future, too! All I know is, I don't want to spend the whole week after this new episode being sad for them, lol. Maybe they can sail away on a pirate ship or something  |

Ragin, I asked & I appreciate your response. This Board contains members who are mature, intelligent & responsible. Any one of us can hear a rumor & identify it as such. When you mentioned what these rumors were, I was a bit surprised that it had gone so far that people on other Boards were posting speculation & calling it fact. That's childish & irresponsible. That's why I post here & not on many other sites. And don't get me started about the USA Message Board. It bothers me to imagine that the writers & principals of CI management might take the threads & posts from that site & assume that it represents what all CI fans believe & how all CI fans act.  |

Ragin, if I in any way upset you, please accept my profuse apologies. My comments were not directed at all at you. As others have noted, your posting was very clear about what was known and what wasn't. You are one of those members of this board DonnaJo describes as "mature, intelligent & responsible." I, on the other hand...well (g)
I don't want to bash the USA Board. It seems to me there are two sorts of discussion boards on the Internet. Those that are administrated very carefully (even obsessively), and those that are not (and result in potential chaos). Both have their place. I think this board has a good balance of free and open discussion and control. Although I occasionally post there and look for news, the USA Board is a bit too wild and wooly for my taste. But that's just me.
So, again, my apologies to Ragin and anyone else. As I wrote, I was in a bit of a snit about all of this at the time I posted and my self editor was hiding somewhere in my brain.

*puts one foot carefully into the discussion* I could buy a nephew/niece. Frank could have been married once and then divorced. I usually stay far from the spoilers because I hate knowing what is coming before I see it, but this thread intrigued me and I had to keep going. |
