I think this is a lazy afternoon movie, it is weird and cycles through some slow times ....a really decent Sunday afternoon movie.
Have fun up north watching some harp playing.

I finally got the chance to see "Bark!" on cable recently. I am going to include some spoilers in my comments, so if anyone doesn't want to know all the details, please skip over what follows. * * * * * * * I like what VDO did with his role, although I got the impression he was an outpatient at the hospital rather than a doctor!
I did finally get tired of all the barking--I think the movie would have been a bit more effective if the barking angle was toned down and more attention was paid to develop the characters and the interactions between them. But then the title wouldn't be "Bark!" would it?
I also was uncomfortable with the barking woman's husband having an affair with the vet. Maybe that's a bit old-fashioned on my part, but I felt that kind of betrayal was out of place in a lighthearted movie like this one. It put a damper on my appreciation and enjoyment of "Bark!"
And I also would have liked to have seen more of Lisa Kudrow's character playing off not only the husband and barking wife, but VDO as well. Her comic talents would have gone a lot farther, and I am especially curious about her comic interplay with VDO. VDO showed a lot of comedic talent in "Happy Accidents" so I was hoping to see more of him in "Bark!' and what he could have done opposite Kudrow.

I know this board doesn't go-in for this sort of thing, but this is Vincent's area, so if you'll allow a fan a bit of gushing...
I liked this film. VDO, as always, was excellent. I found myself yet again surprised by his sensuality. I mean, I am a big fan and he's always sexy just looking at him. But, it seems that in every film I've seen there comes a moment of time, when he's doing something so ordinary, that the strong reaction I have to a look, a gesture, or even just a particular view of him catches me completely off-guard. It's kind of unsettling that this amazing actor can cause me to turn to jello while exerting no effort at all.
Okay, done gushing...You may continue with your normal daily routine. Sorry for the interruption. ;D
