The boy(killer can't remember his name, sorry) was the father's creation, that is how the father felt, and since the father kept voicing his opinion of how he felt about "those type of people" The blacks, the people who went on their dime, his son picked up on his dad's beliefs. Our kids aren't born prejudice, they learn it from us. His dad created him. He said in the end he did this for his dad. So I think this was a lesson for all parents, be careful what you say or do in front of your children, they pick up on the littlest things. His dad even tried to say, He didn't mean anything by it, yeah right.
This won't be one of my favs, But sorry, I love the beard and the lack of suits. I think he looks better, it hides his weight.

I love the beard and the lack of suits. I think he looks better, it hides his weight. Really? I think he looks as overweight as never before... And the beard makes him look like he's already 60 years or older.

Ok second viewing observations.
In the opener. Everyone was in class including Jack and Tess. When they recieved Paul's video. Tess got upset and ran out of class. Her mom followed, her mom went down the tunnel and found Paul's dead body. Right?
Ok.
After Goren and Eames found out Joe wasn't real. They went and questioned Tess and her mom with the search warrent for the computer. Tess decided to answer questions.
Tess said she tought Paul hated her.
Eames said after you saw the video.
Tess said yes. After I saw it. I asked him but he said he loved me, and I said I couldn't love anyone like you. He cried and ran down the tunnels.
Goren said, Did you tell anyone else?
Tess said Yes, I told, whats her name, at Lacross pratice.
Ok, she ran out of class, mom went right after, and found the body, How did all of that happen and Jack leave the class and kill him before mom found the body?

Kindred spirit here LO:CI. Shave that man and get him into a well fitted suit. Goren doesn't do "Scruffy" well.

I thought Tess' conversation with Paul occurred at the prom, and Jack killed him soon after that.
I liked the character of Tess and the actress who played her. But the Mom, the art teacher--I couldn't tell if her character was affected, or the performance was.

Really? I think he looks as overweight as never before... And the beard makes him look like he's already 60 years or older. My husband, who has no knowledge of VDO or his films (I keep that stuff to myself) mentioned while watching "Legacy" that Goren was starting to resemble Orson Welles. The beard looked very grey. almost white, in certain scenes at certain angles. It's blotchy too. VDO needs to comb a little Grecian Formula in there. Unless this is a deliberate choice and what he wants Goren to look like? Everyone else dyes their hair, including Bogosian. Come on Vincent, it's OK.

As a 46-year-old man who's largely grey and whose goatee is almost completely white, I'm thrilled to see an actor (namely, VDO) who isn't trying to look 25.
Personally, I like the scruffier Goren, and I'm proud to see an actor who looks his age. Maybe that's just me? ;D

I've only seen the episode the one time it aired (my dvr crapped out on me and recorded the episode on Bravo instead of the episode on USA at 9pm on Sunday!) so I'm going off of memory but......
I really liked the little lines by Eames about her family in this. The fact that she knew the girls played lacrosse because her nieces played and she recognized the way they ran. The remark she made about being glad her dad wasn't like Paul's dad, etc. I really enjoyed that. Will post more once i actually dvr it for real tomorrow night. LOL.

The best part of this episode for me was the total absence of G/E angst and friction. Thankfully, nothing came of the offhand comments about "schizophrenia" and "rat" but they did catch my attention. I can't wait for Goren to get his act together so that "Law & Order: Days of Our Lives" can be cancelled and CI/Goren can rise like a Phoenix from the ashes of overdone and uninteresting melodrama. Hallelujah!
As for the rest, I wasn't very impressed. Yes this episode is workmanlike, which is a kind way of saying ordinary and that's how I felt about it after viewing. Nothing special, nothing really memorable except for brief rare moments like Eames' comment about lacrosse or Goren spotting Joe Cardinal as the model on the brochure cover. "Legacy" was just there for viewing, inert like a still life, and then gone. The plot, especially the aria, was as flat and uninspired as the characters. I didn't miss any of it when it ended, and like most G/E episodes of the last two seasons, one I won't make time or an effort to watch again.
And now for a dive into the shallow end of the pool: add me to those who want Goren shaven and in a suit! The scruffy, sloppy, unprofessional look is getting old and is not growing on me.

I'd simply say YES to Techguy's review, but I think the Mods frown on one-word posts.
"Flat" and "inert" cover this ep for me. Sort of a trying-hard-to-be a mystery script, and doesn't really rise to the occasion. Has twists and turns, but the outcome is , well, so what? Not much of a maze, not much of a rat. So many LOCI stereotypes once again. Yes, yes, the Upper East Side is evil. Prep school kids are straight out of Lord of the Flies, and their parents' class/race prejudices are to blame for incubating misguided little monsters. So spray some WASP-B-Gone on everything between 72nd Street and 96th Street from Fifth Avenue down to East End. There. Now can we move on?

I was underwelmed. It was so slow. The story was an interesting premise with Jack manipulating everyone, why they didn't run faster with that is a mystery to me.
I enjoyed the scenes with the underclassman. I think Goren was amused by this little kid trying to act all tough. Classic Goren for a short moment.

There was one thing about it that I really liked. All the parents think they know their kids, and they haven't a clue. All the kids think they're really smart, and they don't have a clue. Except for Tess and her mother. And Mrs. Nobiline is seen with her daughter, checking up on what she's doing on her computer.
I didn't get the sense the school was in Manhattan, but outside.

Good point about the school's location, Patcat. Westchester County, north of the city? Lots of rich folks there.
